Having travelled south east from larger coastal towns, Carennac was a welcome tranquil respite. Paula's maisonette is spacious, homely comfortable and has an excellent range of amenities and facilities. Our five night stay was really special as you felt like a local especially when neighbours offered us hand- picked figs and grapes. Carennac is one of the listed most beautiful villages in France and is well located for day trips to enjoy the Dordogne river and other spectacular villages. The bonus of the tight but appreciated lock up garage space was great and the sliding garage door provided daily exercise! You would go a long way to find a better house in this area. Thanks Paula and Paul!

This beautiful house in a special village is a wonderful place to stay. Any window you look out provides a view for a painting or photograph. The house is spacious, comfortable, and outfitted with anything you might need. We enjoyed several meals sitting out back in the lovely garden. Although Paula was abroad, she provides a "manual" with lots of practical and tourist information. The are local managers for the property who were responsive to both phone calls and email.

Stunning location in a medieval village. House was a gem with good ambience and lovely little garden. Garage a real bonus but be aware that street is old and narrow and a large car may not fit in, we had a Renault Clio which was fine after a bit of shunting and helpful advice from the neighbour. Little grocer in village stocks absolute basics so stock up in nearby Martel with fresh milk etc. local restaurant Le Prieure super, lovely staff and limited but lovely French meals. Surrounding countryside beautiful and we used the info provided in the house for walking on wonderful trails (including part of the Compostelle de St Jacques). Great supply of literature about the region in the house and pretty comprehensive house guide as well. Not as big a tourist village as others in the region so lovely and quiet and serene. Canoeing on offer just down the road. House was very comfortable and homely and had a real French vibe about it. Gouffre de Padirac and Rocamadour, both must-see places about 15-20mins away on quiet roads. Other beautiful villages abound here. We had a super time in a super house in a superb village. Thank you for letting us stay.

Carennac is a charming small town, not overrun with tourists. The house is delightful and very well equipped. The host supplied detailed information about the house and recommendations for sight seeing, excursions, restaurants, etc. Once our reservation was confirmed, she sent a most helpful PDF with directions to the house and a preview of what we could expect. We would happily return for another visit.

We loved Carennac, it was such a surprise. A perfect place to a have a few days break in our travels. Apart from just relaxing and wandering the streets of Carennac, we kayaked on the Dordogne and spent some time exploring Sarlat. Paula's and Paul's home was very comfortable and well appointed with lots of information at hand on the area. We especially appreciated the lovely white bed linen and comfy beds. Both Brian and I would recommend a stay in Carennac at Paula and Paul's home.
