We are close to Lake Merritt and its running and walking paths and bird sanctuary. We are also nearby the hip and trendy local Oakland Art Scene with many restaurants and coffee shops. Architectural masterpiece, Cathedral of the Light, is a 5 block walk from our home and worth visiting. Just 2 blocks away is a Whole Foods Superstore with build-your-own burrito and brick-oven pizzas. There's also an ice cream bar, coffee bar and a diverse selection of prepared entrees, soups and snacks for carry-out.
We are blocks away from Highway 580, easily connecting you with all major highways for exploring the Bay Area and Northern California. Parking can sometimes be limiting on our street but not impossible. We are close to buses and BART, taking you into San Francisco or the surrounding areas. We offer complementary pickup and drop-off to BART upon arrival and departure, between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. with 24-hour notice.
This is a smoke-free rental, indoors and out. Custom massage available on site by request.
We have a small dog, a 11-year-old friendly cockapoo named Boswell, whose breed's coat is allergy free. He will not be in your studio but upstairs and around the property at times.
Quiet after 11 pm.
Must lock doors, turn off all lights and heater when not in the apartment.
Amazing location, very close to Whole Foods and Lake Merritt. Our host was easy to talk to and gave us our space and privacy. The room kitchen and bathroom are quirky and rustic. Pros: location, convenient, private, affordable, friendly and respectful host. Cons: low ceilings, cramped toilet room, noisy heater and the bed room is located directly under the owners house so you will hear everything and subsequently we felt weird about speaking at a normal volume. Over all had a good experience!
We were made very welcome by Nancy. The studio is centrally located in a nice neighborhood near Whole Foods. The studio is spacious and comfortable with access to a wonderful outdoor space. The shower is a bit sensitive to temperature control. The kitchen is fully equipped and a real bonus. We had a terrific visit.
Nancy was an incredibly kind and welcoming host who made sure I was comfortable during my stay, gave me the inside scoop on some local art galleries, and gave me a ride to the BART when it was time to catch my flight home. Accommodations were conveniently located, spacious, comfortable, cleanly, and eclectically decorated in a way that made me smile. I had a lovely stay and would highly recommend staying here to anyone visiting Oakland :)
