Our condos are recently renovated inside and out and feature quality finishes and appliances to enhance your stay and comfort. Each condo is uniquely themed and decorated to provide our guests a fun and lasting experience. The American is located in the heart of the village of Bigfork and is literally within walking distance to all the popular amenities the town has to offer including renowned restaurants, art galleries and playhouse.

The space
This particular condo is called 'The Cowboy' and boasts pictures and artwork of famous cowboys (think Lonesome Dove) and cowboys in their element, branding irons, genuine leather saddle that has seen the rugged trails of the Bob Marshall Wilderness and more! The Cowboy is a cozy unit for 6, but we find it adds to the experience and feel of staying in a real 'bunkhouse.' This condo is ground level with easy accessibility to/from the parking lot.

Guest access
Guests will have full access to their own personal condo as well as private patio space with a picnic table and additional outdoor seating. There is a ground level shared grill for use anytime and an onsite coin-operated laundromat that guests may access during posted hours of operation. Each condo has a reserved parking space in The American parking lot located on site.

Other things to note
We love our little village of Bigfork... it is the quintessential cozy town in the mountains! You will experience all the hometown feels you are looking for during your stay... locally roasted coffee and homemade baked goods at the next-door coffee shop, beautiful original artwork and jewelry from multiple local artists, drinks from the distillery or brewery, the list goes on! Your experience in our small village may also include some slight inconveniences, such as all roads in town shutting down for the 4th of July parade or the annual high school Homecoming parade. We will do our best to provide you a heads up so you can plan ahead but hope you also lump them into part of your small town experience and enjoy them!

To allow us to best prepare for the busy summer season each year, we wait until January of the booking year to open our calendars for booking. Feel free to send an inquiry with any questions!

Our condos are a short drive from the Jewel Basin trail system located in the Swan Mountain range for hiking in the summer and an extensive cross country ski trail system for the winter. Bigfork is nestled between the beautiful Flathead Lake and Swan River providing great fly fishing, kayaking, floating, and boating experiences. Bigfork is about 45 minutes from 2 downhill/ back-country ski resorts and Glacier National Park.

We are a family of six living in the beautiful outskirts of the Flathead Valley in Bigfork, Montana. The American was previously a run down, uninhabitable building located in the heart of the downtown village of Bigfork. In 2018, we fully renovated the building and opened for our first summer of operations. We enjoy sharing our quaint mountain village and the beautiful surrounding Big Sky country with our guests.
