Interaction with Guests
The host, a writer, is available most of the time. Speaking English, Dutch and French, he is able to tell you all the details you need to know to have a great time in Amsterdam. He has two small dogs that adore attention by those visitors who feel like it. If not, one might only hear them bark every now and then. See pics and you will love them!
The very center of old Amsterdam. 17th century beauty, wherever you look and go. Near all the museums, shopping streets, bookstores, terraces and restaurants. In whatever direction you walk you will enjoy the particular charm of the canals.
Go to 'location', and drag the yellow puppet in the top left corner to the green Airbnb logo to see the streetview.
Three trams (1,2 and 5) stop at 50 meters from the building. They come and go every five minutes and take you in 7 minutes to the Central Station.
To the airport best is to take bus 197, at the Leidseplein, a five minutes walk. A 20 minutes ride for 4 euros.
Other Things to Note
Bus 197 takes you from the airport to the centre of the city, a five minutes' walk from my home, a twenty minutes' ride for 4 euros only. I highly recommend!
Get off the bus at the Leidseplein, head in the direction of the 'KLM' sign on a rooftop, take the busy shopping street right next to it and continue straight ahead to the Keizersgracht. Cross the bridge over the Keizersgracht, take to your left, where you see cafe Walem. My place is 50 meters down from there.
Be kind, do not be too noisy.
Smoking only allowed in the back of the garden.
Capacity of studio: 2 persons.
Enjoy your stay and ask me where to go & eat. Love to make your stay pleasant!
NOTE: check in time is 3pm. However if the flat is available earlier, you can check in earlier. In any case you can drop your luggage, already explore the city a little bit and come back later for final check in.
Pieter was a wonderful host. He met us at the door to the apartment and helped us get into the apartment quickly due to the rain. He was available throughout our stay via email and was able to supply very good information regarding the area of Amsterdam and what facilities (shops) are local to the apartment.
Everything was as shown in the photos to the apartment on Airbnb and everything worked without any problems.
We would happily stay at this apartment again when we come to Amsterdam again.
Our stay with Pieter was fantastic!
Before and during our stay communication was very easy. Prior to our arrival Pieter provided us with through instructions for getting to the apartment and a listing of restaurants. During our stay we appreciated that Pieter took the time to check-in on us to see if there was anything he could do to make our stay more enjoyable.
The apartment is in a wonderful location in the center of Amsterdam making it easy to explore the city by foot. If you are not interested in walking, it is very easy to catch the tram.
Should we ever have the opportunity to return to Amsterdam we would defiantly stay with Pieter again.
My husband and I stayed at Pieter's apartment for four nights and it was great! Pieter was very accommodating and quick to respond to our questions and requests.
The apartment itself is very clean and spacious. The shower is particularly large! Also, the location cannot be beat. The apartment is in the heart of Amsterdam, but on a lovely, quiet street--right on one of the canals. Walking to everything you'd want to see couldn't be easier.
Hope to be in Amsterdam soon so we can stay at Pieter's again!
Pieter was the perfect host, met us on the street as we were gaining access to the apartment. Showed us all the workings of the locks, etc. gave us plenty of info about things nearby, and checked in on us once during our stay and on leaving
Pieter was out of town, so we were welcomed by his friend Nick. Nick provided me with very detailed and helpful information well in advance and he was right waiting in front of the house when we arrived!! The room is perfectly located, and spacious, right beside the canal, yet super quiet, with a lovely garden. The museums are within walking distance, with shops, restaurants and supermarket around. It was a little far from the train station, but there are trams just close by, very convenient. This was our first Airbnb experience, and really a wonderful stay in Amsterdam!
