Interaction with Guests
The host, a writer, is available most of the time. Speaking English, Dutch and French, he is able to tell you all the details you need to know to have a great time in Amsterdam. He has two small dogs that adore attention by those visitors who feel like it. If not, one might only hear them bark every now and then. See pics and you will love them!
The very center of old Amsterdam. 17th century beauty, wherever you look and go. Near all the museums, shopping streets, bookstores, terraces and restaurants. In whatever direction you walk you will enjoy the particular charm of the canals.
Go to 'location', and drag the yellow puppet in the top left corner to the green Airbnb logo to see the streetview.
Three trams (1,2 and 5) stop at 50 meters from the building. They come and go every five minutes and take you in 7 minutes to the Central Station.
To the airport best is to take bus 197, at the Leidseplein, a five minutes walk. A 20 minutes ride for 4 euros.
Other Things to Note
Bus 197 takes you from the airport to the centre of the city, a five minutes' walk from my home, a twenty minutes' ride for 4 euros only. I highly recommend!
Get off the bus at the Leidseplein, head in the direction of the 'KLM' sign on a rooftop, take the busy shopping street right next to it and continue straight ahead to the Keizersgracht. Cross the bridge over the Keizersgracht, take to your left, where you see cafe Walem. My place is 50 meters down from there.
Be kind, do not be too noisy.
Smoking only allowed in the back of the garden.
Enjoy your stay and ask me where to go & eat. Love to make your stay pleasant!
Pieter is an excellent welcoming host who went out of his way to overcome a problem of mine. His apartment is brilliantly situated near a main tram route between the Central Station and the major art museums. There are numerous eating places and a few supermarkets within easy reach. A number of the major attractions can readily be reached on foot. The compact little apartment is practically set up and certainly had all the necessities as far as I was concerned. Anyone wanting to spend a few nights in central Amsterdam should certainly consider this apartment. They can have confidence that Pieter will do his best to make their stay a happy one in an unobtrusive way. The information on the apartment fairly describes it.O
Our stay has been wonderful! Pieter let us drop our bags hour before the room was ready, was very welcoming and warm and sent me good tips regarding activities to do in the neighborhood. The apartment was lovely, very clean with everything needed, and the bed was absolutely divine! While being in the centre of Asmterdam, it was very quiet, which was great. I will definitely rent it again when I'll come back to Amsterdam and strongly recommend Pieter's apartment for any other renting!
I add to the chorus of approval for Pieter as a brilliant host. His secret is that he lives in the house above the studio flat so seems at hand all the time to receive guests and provide advice. He is also charming, knowledgeable about the city and, like most Dutch people I know, a polyglot. He helped us with our queries, and was generous enough to allow us to take our bags before check-in time and once we were gone and went to pick them up in the evening.
What a wonderful experience! Amsterdam is a beautiful, vibrant city, and being guests in Pieter's apartment enhanced our Amsterdam experience a great deal. It is in the centre of everything we wanted to see and do, with nothing further than a 15 or 20 minute walk. The apartment is in a historic building with a canal just outside the front door and a garden/courtyard in the back. It made us feel we were experiencing the 'real' Amsterdam. Pieter was attentive to our needs, contacting us a couple of times to assist us during our stay.
Pieter is the perfect host and his beautiful apartment is everything that his listing says that it is. Very comfortable bed, great shower, pleasant hidden garden and the perfect location.
We would have no hesitation in recommending this apartment for anyone looking to stay in Amsterdam.
We will definitely be back!
Many thanks, Pieter!
Gary and Anthony.
We had a great time in Amsterdam and enjoyed staying in Pieters apartment very much. It is perfectly positioned in den center and was exactly as it was described. Pieter waited for us when we came, gave us all the necessary information and let us know that we can turn to him whenever we would need something. If we make it back to Amsterdam Pieters apartment will be our first choice again.
Pieter is a wonderful host! He was always ready to help, to answer our questions and to make us comfy. The apartment is lovely, clear, quiet... The bed is so comfortable! It's very well located, in the center, we enjoyed 10 days there and we visited everything just walking! We just used the public transport to go to the airport.
This is our first AirBnb experiente and we loved our stay, just felt like home. Would stay in Pieter's apartment again if we come back to Amsterdam in the future =)
