Interaction with Guests
The host, a writer, is available most of the time. Speaking English, Dutch and French, he is able to tell you all the details you need to know to have a great time in Amsterdam. He has two small dogs that adore attention by those visitors who feel like it. If not, one might only hear them bark every now and then. See pics and you will love them!
The very center of old Amsterdam. 17th century beauty, wherever you look and go. Near all the museums, shopping streets, bookstores, terraces and restaurants. In whatever direction you walk you will enjoy the particular charm of the canals.
Go to 'location', and drag the yellow puppet in the top left corner to the green Airbnb logo to see the streetview.
Three trams (1,2 and 5) stop at 50 meters from the building. They come and go every five minutes and take you in 7 minutes to the Central Station.
To the airport best is to take bus 197, at the Leidseplein, a five minutes walk. A 20 minutes ride for 4 euros.
Other Things to Note
Bus 197 takes you from the airport to the centre of the city, a five minutes' walk from my home, a twenty minutes' ride for 4 euros only. I highly recommend!
Get off the bus at the Leidseplein, head in the direction of the 'KLM' sign on a rooftop, take the busy shopping street right next to it and continue straight ahead to the Keizersgracht. Cross the bridge over the Keizersgracht, take to your left, where you see cafe Walem. My place is 50 meters down from there.
Be kind, do not be too noisy.
Smoking only allowed in the back of the garden.
Enjoy your stay and ask me where to go & eat. Love to make your stay pleasant!
Pieter's place is right in the middle of everything but has the benefit is being very quiet. The bed is very comfortable, the place is clean, there's great coffee, a little garden, great water pressure, an amazing TV with lots of channels and NetFlix.
Pieter lives just upstairs which is reassuring. He was so helpful with restaurant recommendations and shopping tips.
Basically his place is really unusual and luxurious - ideal for close friends or a couples. I could easily have stayed there for a few weeks more!
We had a lovely weekend in Amsterdam, Pieter was a wonderful host. He welcomed us and showed us around the beautiful apartment and showed us how everything worked. He then left us alone to enjoy our stay but was available straight away with any questions we had. He also gave us a list of restaurants, supermarkets and other things to see in the area. The apartment is situated in the ideal location for us. It's a lovely area to walk around day or night and is a nice walk to Vondelpark and right on the tram route to central station. We loved the apartment. It was spotless, spacious and we felt very at home there. The garden is sunny in the morning and the bed is super comfortable. It is the perfect place to stay in Amsterdam.
Great place to stay and it is well situated. Close to anything you want. Pieter was very helpful thanks a lot! Sûre will stay they again one day :)
Pieter, our host, was extremely welcoming. We arrived early but fortunately our accommodation was ready. The apartment was lovely; very well equipped and spacious. For such a central location we were amazed at how peaceful it was.
Pieter had lots of hints and tips on local life and was always on hand to answer questions and queries...a superb host.
Would definitely return.
Nous avons très bien été accueilli par Pieter qui nous a généreusement installé dans l'appartement 2h avant l'heure prévue.
Le logement se veut très confortable (surtout le lit!) et très calme. Les principaux lieux touristiques se situent à proximité.
The apartment was nice, clean and warm. The bed was so comfortable- being pregnant its difficult to get comfortable so the bed really made a difference. It's located in a fantastic area lots of grey shopping! Pieter was the best! He was very helpful and very very nice!! If you need anything you can rely on Pieter! I would highly recommend this place!
It was a lovely positioned apartment. Very central with all transport very near by. Whilst Pieter was away, Efua stepped in and was very helpful and welcoming. Perfect for a couple of nights in Amsterdam!
Writer, loving the arts, sports and his two dogs. Native Dutch speaker, fluent in English and French. Be free, be friendly. And do not smoke in the apartment.
