About This Listing
The apartment is located in Little Italy AKA Far Mile End. It is on the second floor of a duplex, very spacious and comfortable. The apartment has 3 rooms, which means that there are min 3 people living in the house. There is a big living-room, 2 balconies, bathroom and a big kitchen. There is lots of space for everybody! =)
The place is great for tourists because of its great position. It is only 5 min away from the most famous market "Jean-Talon" & one of largest parks - Jarry Park (which has a free outside pool). The neighborhood has lots of nice bars and restaurants, stores and grocery stores. There is a 24h gas station 3 min away walking distance.
There are 2 metro stations in less than 10 min walking distance and the buss going downtown and to the old city is right in font of the building (15 min away from downtown). There are 2 Bixi stations in less than 5 min walk from the house (if u like to bike).
The house is fully furnished, has all the appliances and there is high speed internet. You can cook, do laundry, enjoy some time in the balcony...
The available room is fully furnished with everything that you need to be comfortable (closet, comfy double bed, desk, chair). You only need to bing your traveling bag :)
I am working and studying. I enjoy meeting new people, sharing a glass of wine and stories. I have hosted many people from different countries and we have always had a great time. Make me a part of your trip, and I bet you won't regret it :)
Room, bathroom, kitchen, living room, balcony.
Interaction with Guests
I usually interact a lot with the guests. I love to sometimes have a glass of wine and dinner or to go out discover the city with them. It all depends on my available time.
My neighborhood has everything you can wish for: a beautiful park, a farmer's market, lots of stores and restaurants. It is a safe and quiet place.
There is a bus stop right in front of the house (the 55 bus during the day and 363 during the night). This bus goes downtown and to the old city.
Metro station De Castelnau (on the blue line) is 5 min away walking from the house.
Metro Station Jean-Talon ( on the orange line) is 10 min away walking distance from the house.
There are a few bixi bikes stations in the neighborhood and a car rental company on the corner of the street.
Other Things to Note
Please read the house rules =)
There are no parties allowed. However the guests can invite friends for dinners and hangouts if they have previously informed the host.
The guests have to clean after themselves in their private room as well as in the public space. Cleaning after themselves involves things like: cleaning the bathtub after they shower, cleaning the kitchen after they have used it, washing their plates and stove after using it, etc. There is no cleaning fee so pls keep in mind that we all share the space.
I really prefer not walking with the outside shoes in the house.
Please try to keep the noise to a minimum in the morning.
There is no cleaning fee so pls keep in mind that we all share the space.
Thank you for your cooperation =)
I stayed a little bit more than two months at Iulias place (February-April 2015) for my studies at the UdM and it was perfectly located for that. In fact for everything because you have also buses and nightbuses ;-) at st.laurent. The apartment is well equipped and offer everything to prepare your meals. Although the both of us were pretty occupied with work, Iulias and I spend some nice evenings and a funny winter day in Quebec City, thanks a lot.
I spent 4 months in Iulia's apartment. The flat was spacious, clean and contained everything I needed. The location was wonderful: the metro station is really close and this is great during the winter. The room was nice and cozy. Iulia is a nice, frindly and sweet person! I felt at home from the very beginning of my stay!
The flat is spacious and wonderfully situated in the heart of Little Italy which makes morning walks to the market as well as really good coffee a quick stroll away. The best part of staying here is Lulia who is very lovely, the kind of person you're lucky to meet in any new city.
I loved being Iulia's roommate. Because of her warm and welcoming attitude she helped me to feel at home from the very beginning of my stay.
The neighborhood is great, lots of cafés, restaurants, a market, a park, bus and subway nearby, just everything you need to fall in love with Montreal.
My room was clean and contained everything I needed, no luxury but cosy.
If you like cats you will also like Yogi, he is a crazy but lovely cat who likes to cuddle.
All in all I did never regret my decision to live in a shared flat during my two-months-stay, especially because of Iulia's company and the company of the other roommates I had throughout my stay there.
Thank you Iulia, I will miss you and my time in Montreal!
I stayed 5 months in Iulia's apartment and had some good and bad times there. + Iulia is a very nice person, who is always willing to help you with stuff; the apartment is located well, safe area, close to the metro and some shops; you can use quite everything that is in the apartment; the room i stayed in is quite nice, calm although it has its window to the street, furnished and gets some morning sun. - the apartment is not clean at all; the hair of the cat are almost everywhere; TV is not working; the doors and floor are quite old which makes you hear everything that is going on in the flat; Iulia was not there at my check in time and so was anyone else or any paper to explain me stuff. Overall i am sorry to say that but i can not recommend that apartment at all as i saw many better and newer flats in an even better area for a way better price.
Your comment came as a very big surprise, as you never told me about any of this issues. Regarding cleaning, it is very clearly stated in the house rules that you have to clean after yourself. I know that you felt upset because I asked you several times to respect a few house rules, but by leaving this comment you didn't solve anything. Communication is the key, and I'm sad that you didn't even try. If you really did not like staying here you were never forced to stay for 5 months. I hope that those that read this comment, will take the time to read all the other ones.
I stayed there for more than 2 months, it felt like leaving home at the end of my stay!
Iulia is an extremely generous and sociable person, she was an instant and continuous resource about all aspects of living in Montreal. Also, she's always willing to do any shared activities in her free time.
The room is cute and includes everything you need. The whole place was generally clean and shared facilities were comfortable and spacious enough no matter how many people stay there!
Location is good too, with few steps to bus station and access to two metro stations on orange and blue line. The room is very well priced (I'd list it for USD 20 - 25 per night if I were the host :P)
People who prefer to cook food would love Jean Talon Market! it's the biggest of its kind in Montreal. People who prefer to just eat won't be disappointed at all! some of the best restaurants in montreal are few minutes away, and virtually all cuisines are covered.
