Description

The space

Small but comfortable and very tranquil..views of forest and jungle, wildlife!

Guest access

Washer and dryer located in the main residence..also, custom spa available.
We have a wonderful maid, Maria, who cleans for us once a week..if you would like her to do any cleaning and/or laundry, let us know..there is no
additional cost, perhaps maybe a small tip for Maria!

Interaction with guests

We love to interact with our guests, and provide information on what we know about this beautiful country! That said, we do respect our guests right to privacy and will be available only when and if you need us!

The neighborhood

We live in a gated community with limited traffic and noise; located up on a mountainside, the climate tends to be a little cooler, and you will most likely see Toucans, parrots, the occasional whiteface monkey, the very timid and elusive jaguarundi and coatimundis.

Getting around

We are located fairly close to town, but a car is always recommended. One of us normally goes into town each day and can give a ride downtown..this has worked out well for many of our guests who then take a taxi back..taxis are readily available and quite inexpensive. There is also a bus station in town, and a bus ride to San Jose will cost less than $2!

Other things to note

We have 3 dogs and 2 cats so it helps to be an animal lover..we will make sure, however, that they won't pester you!

I am a regular worldwide traveller, but I have never before had the fortune to stay in such a beautiful place as this! The casita is gorgeous, with some lovely artwork inside and is incredibly well equipped. The view from the balcony is astounding and the noises amazing! It was only Cameron that was around for my extended stay (2 weeks) but he was the most fantastic host; starting from the moment that he picked me up from the town centre and immediately offered to take me to the supermarket for provisions. I have been made to feel so welcome by Cameron and the wonderful dogs and cats too and have truly felt at home here! I have been more than happy to walk the 50 minutes into the town centre on a regular basis as it is such a beautiful walk and there are so many friendly people to meet on the way. (Otherwise it is only a couple of dollars by taxi anyway). I can't recommend this place enough for a relaxing retreat amongst nature - with easy access to public transport to San Jose and the beach if required. I love it!!

Very nice place with beautiful views! Very welcoming hosts, made our stay even better. Close from the city, coffee tours and cane tours, about 40mins from Juan Santamaria Airport.

Our stay exceeded our expectations in every way. Our casita was clean and comfortable with a beautiful jungle view from our balcony. There is a path leading to banana and lime trees. The best part of our stay was the generosity of our hosts. Diane and her wonderful family opened their homes to us and went above and beyond to make our two-week stay as carefree as possible. We already miss them! We will definitely be back.

Diane, Cameron, and Jocelyn are wonderful hosts who make you feel so welcome. This was our second visit to their home and casita, and we loved it yet again. They are very helpful and kind, answering any questions we had and suggesting some great places to check out during our stay. The casita is beautiful, cozy, and clean. We feel so comfortable there and very much enjoy visits with their dogs and cats as well! We highly recommend visiting the casita!

The pictures were informative but could not begin to capture the magnificance of the setting or the casita. Diane seemed to have thought of everything we might want or need before our arrival - from a multitude of spices and cooking utensils to all furnishings and supplies as well as transportation. We spent a good deal of time with her husband, Cameron, which was both helpful and entertaining. Her daughter is a sweetheart and shared many of her art creations. We also enjoyed their friendly dogs and cats. Diane was a kind and attentive hostess. We didn't really want to leave. - Rick and Sheila.

Retired, living in Costa Rica, with my husband and adult daughter; originally, my husband and I are from Southern California and moved to San Luis Obispo mid 70's where our twin daughters were born..we retired to Costa Rica in 2009, but my other daughter stayed behind to pursue her college career..Jocelyn, my daughter living with us, is an artist, and does amazing paintings, of the local wildlife, birds, trees, flowers, waterfalls etc! We love the latin culture, music and art, and have travelled to Mexico, Panama, Nicaragua and Cuba..also to Bahamas, Jamaica Hawaii and Europe, but LOVE where we settled in Costa Rica!! Since we live on the property, we are available to help with anything you may need! Our goal is to ensure you enjoy your stay, and the lovely tranquil surroundings..Pura Vida!
