I feel so lucky that I got to spend my first trip to Dublin in Avril's lovely home! She is a truly wonderful, gracious and experienced host.
I stayed in the larger front bedroom, which was not only immaculate, but included a comfy couch and nice iKea wardrobe. The bed had more than enough blankets and the mattress was comfortable as well. Everything in her house is very modern, sleek and stylish.
Avril is an expert on Dublin, naturally, and left me lots of maps, guides and advice about where to go and what to see. I also had a great continental breakfast every day, which was an added bonus!
As far as location, the house is in a safe, lovely neighborhood adjacent to Phoenix Park. There is an entrance to the park about 2 minutes away from the house, which makes for a nice morning stroll. There are also a few pubs, but you'd be better off catching one of the frequent buses that runs into the center of town. The bus service to this area is incredibly reliable and frequent. I never had to wait more than ten minutes. There is also a gas station around the corner, if you are renting a car.
All in all, I would happily stay at Avril's again, and highly recommend her place. A+
Avril was a really nice host. She and her family were still really friendly and helpfull even though I wasn't really around (help me through the bus strike at my arrival). I recommand highly Avril home. Thanks a lot!
I would like to say a big thank u to Avril and her wonderful family for making my stay in Dublin so special. Avril was very good in sharing information on the bus routes and where to go, they took me to a beautiful pub and I really felt part of the family. When I next visit Dublin I will be letting you know Avril.
Once again, a big thank you :-)
Avril was very caring and helpful. Her daughter Sonya was always ready to help as well, so I had no problems with reaching the place and so on.
We shared some time together, talked a lot, so I did not feel lonely at all (I was travelling alone).
The place is 15 min from city centre or one hour walk to Dublin castle, for example. Heuston station is just 30 min walk. The area is nice and safe. So if you`d like to visit Dublin and not to go bust (hotels are quite expensive there), Avril`s place is definitely a place you need.
This was great! It's a short and inexpensive bus ride into town and Avril is very kind and accommodating. If I'm ever back in Dublin I know who I'll ask!
Avril was the most amazing/giving host I've had in my time with airBNB. A great room for a solo traveler in a relaxed part of Dublin. Easy bus access to central city. Comfortable bed, great kitchen and a family who will teach you a thing or two about being Irish. Any issue you have on your trip, Avril will help solve.
This stay turned out as a success, because Avril was very welcoing, took time to chat and also recommended the place to visit in the evening which turned out to be perfect for me. The location was excellent and the bedroom was spotlessly clean, tidy and I slept well.
Nice shower in the morning, and a breakfast too. Avril was home that day so I had chance to chat before leaving the house. I liked the area and it's closeness to a local train station and to the buses Recommended.
