Kwame was so friendly and made me feel very welcome. He provided great recommendations for eating and sightseeing. The location is an easy walk from Otrobanda, and the room is clean and comfortable.
We were given a warm welcome by Karen and Kwame and felt right at home from the minute we landed in Curaçao! They offer an affordable airport transfer to and from the airport for much much less than a cab. They drove us through the main area of Willemstad to help us get an idea of where to go. The room was everything you need and we slept so well during our time there. A trick for the showers: turn them on just a little bit for the hot water. If you turn them too much that gives you colder water. We would definitely stay here again :)
Kwame is a Very friendly host, who picked us up from the airport. The place is basic but more than okay, to explore the city centre of Willemstad. wifi works perfect and Rosa, the housemaid is also very kind and helpful. She borrowed us two beach towels. Airco is also perfect and the small fridge very useful
We had a perfect stay to start discover Curaçao
MustiQue Suites is awesome! The room was tidy, has a little fridge, a powerful AC, and cable TV with lots of channels. The bathroom has a spacious shower with warm water and was really bright. Also there is daily room service. Kwame and Karen are two sweethearts. Kwame is really helpful and caring: he showed us the supermarket by the apartments, gave us some insider tips on the currency exchange, language and customs on the island. They both were really welcoming.
There is also a fullly equiped kitchen there is shared by all guests. They had all kinds of supplies there, which was great for cooking. It has two stoves, is really tidy and closes as late as 9pm. Oh! There is an ice machine too!
One feels very welcome at Karen's Place. The rooms are very tidy and get cleaned every day. New A/C is in place. The receptionists help you to find what you need in Willemstadt. Plus: You can use a tidy kitchen in a shared place if you prefer to...
I stayed for 2 weeks in January 2014 at Mustique Suites. The room was just as described, clean, private bathroom, great AC unit (with a remote control which was nice), mini fridge, safe (big enough for a 15" mac laptop) and key card entry. The only negative, for my particular room, is that it was closest to the road, which makes hearing obnoxious motorcyclists very easy. And as for the location, it wasn't the greatest, but I never felt unsafe whatsoever. For the price, as a single traveler, it was perfect :-)
As for the hosts, Karen and Kwame were wonderful. Kwame helped me rent a car, figure out the buses and when I became sick halfway through my trip (mosquito sickness/food poisoning, still not sure), he called a friend who was a doctor and he saw me 12 hours later. After I came back, he said anything I need I should just ask, offered to get me food, and for the next few days everyone (even the cleaning staff) was asking how I felt. This was a nice feeling considering I was traveling alone.
It's not high end by any means, not a resort of course, but I would definitely recommend this listing!
