About This Listing
The HackerHome Network
Whether you're new to the Valley, bored with your current housing or need a transient place... I would like to help. When you reserve with me, you'll have instant friends and be part of a network of 12 homes in the Bay Area.
Three story building with a rooftop. 1st floor is a restaurant, but the entire 2nd and 3rd floor is yours! Plenty of workspace including standing work stations.
7 bedrooms - combination of private and shared rooms
All utilities are included and free WIFI.
Clean linens/bedding are provided + a fresh towel.
Interaction with Guests
It's a house full of people & different schedules. So please use ear plugs if necessary. If you're a light sleeper or can't sleep on a single mattress, this may not be the right place for you.
We are a very communal/respectful group and strive to provide space for everyone to work and hangout.
This is the busiest and loudest neighborhood of all of my HackerHomes! The good thing is that you're surrounded by North Beach, Telegraph Hill, Chinatown and the Financial District. So many awesome restaurants, cafes and bars in the area. You might find me eating a sacripantina at Stellas.
Since there are some bars and clubs nearby, you'll also see the drunkards and floozies on the street. Try not to bring this culture inside the house.
You're about 4 blocks north of the financial district. So it's a very walkable area.
Other Things to Note
More than one suitcase? Consult with me prior to making your reservation.
Respectful Housing for Women
Females in a separate room. If you'd like to stay in the girls' room, please check with me on availability before reserving. If you don't have a preference, then just make your reservation.
The Airbnb cleaning fee is to make sure you have a clean bed upon arrival and not to clean up after you. All spaces are shared, so please be mindful of picking up after yourself. If you're a longer term guest, remember to use one bath towel and wash it with your own load of laundry.
Best Way to Reach Me
1. Complete your Airbnb profile with an ID/Passport and connect your social networks.
2. One line about your purpose of visit.
3. Let me know your duration of stay and estimated time of arrival on your check in date.
Smoke on the patio on the 2nd floor or on the rooftop.
If you must invite an associate/friend over, consult with me first
Be conscientious of morning bathroom usage
Do not snooze your alarm
Use earphones, not speakers - unless it's a family event
We Prefer That You
be respectful of the space and to fellow housemates
clean up after yourself by making your bed and washing your dishes
have an optimistic outlook and laugh a lot =D
Vic is an amazing host. He always replies quickly. His little gifts for check-in also makes me feel welcomed! Other visitors are kind and helpful. Most of them are students, from many different places in the world!
The bedroom is small, but there are very large lobby and working space. Bath room and shower are also good. It's also quiet in the night.
The location is very good for me. I can walk to the financial district. There are also nice restaurants around. I would not say the neighborhood is the safest, but I don't have any trouble walking in the night.
Vic made sure we had all the information we needed before we got there so everything went very smooth.
The room we shared was small but if you pushed your bags under the bed we got more space.
Public transport in San Fran is good so we could move around quite easily.
The roommates at the house was very sweet and one evening Vic invited everyone from the "hacker homes" to a dinner party which was a lot of fun.
If you're looking for a place in San Fran that don't cost a fortune Vic's place in telegraph hill is great. And Vic himself is an azum host!
Great location, nice people in the house. However we have booked double room and were charged for double room and we got really small single room instead. Bear in mind this single room is for sleeping only as there is no space to move and windows are (website hidden) air condition. house has access to the roof with view on downtown and bay bridge which is big adventage. All in all it was nice except for the room. We havent met Vic but we were in touch, he repied for every our question really fast and keep as safe and comfortable by that, Vic apologized us and was opened for suggestions from our side how to sort out room issue but as we are on vacations we were more excited about exploring the city than negotiating any refund or other form of reiburesement or looking for other place to stay in SF.
The Hacker Home is a really nice place to stay for young people. We stayed there for 5 days to visit San Francisco as tourists, but most people stay there to work. There is still some construction going on in the house, so it looked a bit different than on the photos. Although not mentioned in the description, there is a small kitchen in this home. There were only two things we didn't like: Our room was the one on the roadside and it was pretty loud during the night. Also the light switch in the community room operated our lights as well and the walls don't go up to the ceiling, so if anybody was in the community room, we had to sleep with the lights on.
Great location, people, and the place was nice and clean and made a bunch of new friends. I would definitely recommend it.
Vic was an amazing host, very attentive and always on time with his replies, he looks after you to make sure you are comfortable and never hesitates to offer his help to make sure you are more than satisfied with your stay. It was certainly a pleasure to schedule with him and would highly recommend him as a host to anyone who is looking for a great place to stay!
Vic was a great host and has created a great community for people here working in tech. I certainly plan to stay at Hacker House again.
