Michael was an excellent host and the house was simply amazing. Everything from check in to check out was perfect! The house was clean and organized just as I imagined it, and my guest loved the seclusiveness of the house. Hope to be returning here sometime in the near future.
Property was really nice. Great views, a lot of amenities, but kitchen is in bad shape. This property rental would have been amazing, but the host was awful and very unprofessional. Threatened to kick me out with no refund because the neighbor found a golf ball in their swimming pool. The host also charged me $100/day for heating the pool and they heated it for only half the time I was there. Would not recommend this place to anyone.
Eric was an absolute nightmare to host as a guest and I would never have him back to my house again. His check in time was 4pm, however he had guests showing up as early as 130pm that completely interrupted another reservation I was hosting. He did not provide proper instruction to his guests to find the house, and 1 guest walked right into my neighbors yard, thinking it was mine. Then we had originally agreed on no more than 40 people for a 1 night party (his stay was for 2 nights) the first night around 70 people showed up, and 1 of them hit a golf ball off my putting green, over 100 feet down a steep hill and into my neighbors pool area, where he sits everyday with his wife and kids. He is retired and works in his yard everyday, gardening etc its what he loves to do. He was furious as a golf ball traveling that far could kill someone. I had gone to bed early but woke up to the message from my neighbor and contacted eric, of course he denied it, but my handyman who was at the property late that evening confirmed that the party was completely out of control. I tried to contact airbnb support, I was on hold forever and then transferred several times and still received no help from them, finally 4 days later, 2 days after the guest checked out, I received a call from them, and they told me that because there was nothing in my listing stating that guests could not hit golf balls off my hill and risk killing people with them, that there was nothing they could do to help me. You would think if something is against the law, it shouldn't have to be in your rule list but I guess airbnb makes their own laws. I drove to the house in person saturday midday to see that eric was setting up for another huge party, he had giant dj speakers blasting techno music at completely unreasonable levels and instead of pointing them toward the house where he guests were, he had them pointed out toward the entire san fernando valley. I live on top of a hill so when speakers are pointed that direction, it just travels forever, and why would you point them away from the house when your guests are all on the other side. Not to mention that the speakers were on 6 ft stands, making the sound travel even further. Just a complete lack of common sense with this guy and his guests. He apologized about the golf ball and admitted that he had no control over the 70 people that were there the previous night. I accepted his apology and let him stay at the house, although if it was booked through any other site I would've asked him to leave, because only airbnb will take the money back away from you if you upset a guest, and nobody from airbnb would respond to me in a timely fashion. When he checked out sunday, I was left with a house full of used cocaine straws, white residue on almost every glass table or surface in the house, tiny baggies with residue of strange powders, 2 ecstasy pills that had fallen under a couch, marijuana cigarette butts, regular cigarette butts scattered outside as well as cups, alcohol containers etc. Eric said he would leave me a great review on airbnb to make up for it. He waited until my time had ran out to file a claim on his deposit and wrote me a nasty review. This was my worst experience renting to a guest ever and I have been in business for 10years now, with over 1000 successful bookings. This incident created major damage to the relationship between my neighbor and I, which as a host is something that money cannot fix. This is not a hotel, it is a home. Go rent a nightclub if you have no regard for human life or my 10 years of hard work building my business and my relationships with my neighbors.
Michael was super accommodating! Highlights were definitely the pool/jacuzzi. A great spot for a pool party with fabulous sunset views!
I used this residence for a film shoot. The host was awesome and was always available.
We booked this space as a retreat site for a group of college students. Mike was very accommodating, and a great host. The house worked very well for our large group, and the views from the property are amazing. Definitely recommend this place if you want to stay in the Woodland Hills area.
Michael's house was the perfect place to host our bachelor party. The views are gorgeous, the living space is huge and the amenities are numerous. The house has so much character and yes, you can fit your keg in those industrial sized refrigerators. You couldn't ask for more.
The location was perfect with LA and Hollywood being just a short trip down the 101. We were able to hit the bars and clubs and make it back with no issues.
Michael is a great host as well. Anything we needed he would have in 10 minutes or less. We spent a whole weekend at the house and we couldn't even take advantage of every amenity available to us. Make sure you give yourself enough time in your stay to really explore this house!
My friends and I had a birthday/Halloween event at Michael's house, and it turned out to be perfect in every way. The house had so much character, and easily accommodated around 80 guests with tons more room to spare. All the random amenities provided fun and interesting things for our friends to do, and the secluded, private location gave us a peace of mind, knowing that we weren't disrupting the neighbors.
Some other highlights I'd like to point out:
- Jacuzzi and pool were awesome and lit up really beautifully at night. Many towels were also provided.
- There were a lot of beds and couches available, with tons of extra blankets and sheets.
- The pricing was very fair. I really wasn't able to find anything else in LA that would allow me to throw a party like this without completely emptying my pockets.
- The driveway was huge with tons of parking. There was also a large amount of street parking available only a few blocks away.
Michael was also a very responsive host. During our stay, every question was answered promptly and politely. After our stay, we realized we left a lot of items back at the house. Not only did Michael look for our items and package them up for us to pick up, but he also let us back into the house to do an additional thorough search.
