Veera was a gracious host. We arrived at the apartment fairly late, and she gladly accommodated our needs. The hotel is a very close walk to the beach and town of Puerto Viejo. We really enjoyed our stay!
Veera and the staff were lovely hostesses. They took time to inform us of how we could make the best of our time in the relaxing and interesting town, Puerto Viejo de Talamanca. One should, however, be aware of the fact that the pictures show all of the different rooms, not necessarily the one you will be staying in. While we were in Puerto Viejo de talamanca, they were having a period with a lot of mosquitoes, cockroaches and other insects in the area. This was of course not the hotel's fault, that is life in the tropics, but one should therefore buy some insect repellent, which they sell in every supermarket. The location of the hotel is absolutely perfect, close to the beach and restaurants, but still a bit away from the street noise. We would recommend this hotel to every kind of travellers: couples, friends, families etc. We fully enjoyed our stay at Jacaranda hotel and spa :D
I wrote to Veera late the night before going to Puerto Viejo, hoping that she would get my message and my boyfriend and I would be able to enjoy a spontaneous trip to the Caribbean. We took the bus into Puerto Viejo from San Jose and easily found the Jacaranda Apartments from the bus station there. When we got to Jacaranda, Veera had received the message and we were able to stay the weekend in the beautiful, secluded apartment. It had two bedrooms, which was a little large for just the two of us, but overall it was exactly what we were looking for. The apartment had a private entrance apart from the cabinas and its own private kitchen and balcony where we were able to cook together and really enjoy each other's company. There were also a few family-owned businesses nearby who rented bicycles for the day, which we took advantage of and rode down to Manzanillo and stopped at many of the beaches along the way. There was a lot to explore closeby during the day, from different cafes and restaurants to little shops and even other interesting hostels. There seemed to be an active nightlife in the town as well.
Veera was so wonderful and wanted to make sure we were happy during our stay, which we definitely were! I will definitely come back to Jacaranda the next time I go to Puerto Viejo and would absolutely recommend the apartment.
