NOW’S YOUR CHANCE! For the first time ever, you can take a “voyage" on the Edmund B. Gustdorf Milwaukee Boathouse & Lighthouse - a 1925 landlocked Boat overlooking the Milwaukee River and Oak Leaf Bike/Hike Trail in a quiet, leafy Eastside spot 10 mins. from downtown. Extensively renovated & period furnished — a museum-quality vintage Boat. NOT FOR THE STAIR CHALLENGED. PLEASE read our guests’ reviews of their UNFORGETABLE EXPERIENCE. Fish in the river, bike or hike the trails (Bublr close by).

The space
Warm and toasty, the Boathouse has a fireplace to brave the elements in cozy style.

We can customize your unforgettable experience with flowers, champagne and chocolate (or sardines and limes); assisting with canoeing/kayaking or fishing on the Milwaukee River; biking on the Oak Leaf Trail below; celebrating your special event; or accommodating the young (or old) sea captain in your group. We have Boat captain and pirate attire, lots of board games, a special book for children and whatever you need.

Located in the heart of Milwaukee's quiet Eastside, the Edmund B. Gustdorf Boathouse overlooks the Oak Leaf Trail bike path and the canoeable Milwaukee River, and is a few blocks away from UWM campus and famous Riverwest neighborhood, within walking distance to Lake Michigan, a ten minute drive to Milwaukee's downtown: it offers easy access to the best Milwaukee has to offer.

This 2 bedroom Boathouse boasts sleeping accommodations for up to 6 in 2 single beds in a private bedroom and adjacent bath, a high quality custom built awesome queen mattress sofa bed in the living room adjacent to bathroom, and a queen futon sofa bed in lower lounge area, with full bath, gas fireplace, and flat screen cable TV. The galley kitchen is fully accessorized and stocked with cookware, dishes and utensils, as well as necessities such as a coffee machine, kettle, toaster, good cookware, tableware, and gadgets (blender, child’s tea set, etc.), as well as coffee, tea, hot chocolate, bottled water, oil, salt/pepper, etc.

The wood-paneled dining room seats four, there is deck seating, and the outdoor dining room table that seats six. The Boathouse has hi-speed WiFi. The carport accommodates 2 cars, but parking is free for up to 3 nights by on-line arrangement with the City.

Guest access
The Boathouse is located in an ideal location that appeals to all travelers. Overlooking the Oak Leaf Trail bike and hiking path, as well as the Milwaukee River, it offers easy access to many of the beautiful hidden natural gems Milwaukee has to offer. A Bublr bike station (Milwaukee's citywide rentable bikes) is located two blocks away from the house for those who wish to explore the Oak Leaf Trail or the city. Canoes are also available to rent with the Boathouse for those who wish to paddle down the river, which even connects with the heart of the downtown and can be docked near the Screaming Tuna restaurant for cocktails and downtown exploration! (Please contact us in advance if considering canoe rentals to make arrangements.)

We are also located on many bus lines that easily can connect you to the many wonderful neighborhoods Milwaukee has to offer. If traveling with a car, we are an easy five minute drive to the famous Brady Street, and an easy ten to the heart of our downtown. We are also a fifteen minute drive to the Henry Maier Festival grounds (home to Summerfest and the many ethnic fests that happen nearly every weekend in the summer) as well as the Milwaukee Art Museum (the opening and closing ceremonies of the Calatrava are a MUST-SEE!)

For those that enjoy taking a walk, we are located just a few blocks east of the cultural hub Riverwest, as well as a few blocks west of the UWM campus. Lake Michigan is within walking distance as well! There are many local shops and restaurants and cafes within walking and biking distance, as well as two movie theaters, and many small galleries and studios.

Other things to note
We are available to rent for special events and occasions! Please contact us in advance with inquiries and to make arrangements.

A one-time $50 cleaning fee will be added to your final fee per booking (example: $50 will be added to your final fee if you only book one night; $50 will be added to your final fee if you book an entire week).

Every 7th night booked will be FREE! Contact us for special long-term stay arrangements.
