Relax and recharge on 220+ tranquil acres, family owned since 1871! Cows, horses, dogs, and abundant wildlife, plus amazing views of the tank from wrap-around porches will make your visit unforgettable. Our renovated farmhouse is sparkling clean and sanitized, cozy and welcoming, and complete with BBQ pit & outdoor dining - perfect for family meals. For special occasions, our on-site chefs, Callisto Culinary, can prepare a delicious meal for you and your guests - from comfort food to gourmet!

The space
A renovated farmhouse, originally built over 100 years ago and relocated here. With shiplap walls and ceiling, and longleaf pine floors, this vintage house had old Czech newspapers used as insulation in the attic.

The house has one large bedroom on the first floor and a fun "flop room" upstairs in the finished attic, with lower ceiling, perfect for a slumber party, crash spot or kids space, with multiple beds. Great space for those who are vertically challenged! Again, note that there is no bathroom upstairs and the ceilings are lower as it is a renovated attic space. There are 1 1/2 bathrooms. The full bath in the master bedroom has a soaking tub and a separate shower.

The wrap around porch (with the requisite swing!) is a great place to enjoy coffee in the morning or watch the sunset in the evening. A great couple’s get-away!! We are far from city lights, so the stars are simply incredible on a clear night.

Our official greeting committee consists of our three Ranch dogs - Dexter (Old Yeller), Boomer (black lab mix) and Henry (the hot mess labradoodle) - our rescues! They love when we have guests and want nothing more than a belly rub. Everyone loves them and they are great with kids and other dogs. Bonus: They will loudly sound an alert if there is a snake close by.

Twin Oaks Ranch also has a new refined rustic Event Center with a full commercial kitchen, hosting intimate weddings of up to 125 people, house concerts and themed dinners with heavenly dining provided by the award winning Chefs of Callisto Culinary. It’s a beautiful private space in the country with indoor and outdoor seating, large covered porches overlooking the surrounding woods, a beautiful two-way fireplace, ceremony oak arch, and a professional sound system.

If you are a foodie looking for a beautiful country location for to simply escape, or plan a wedding, reception, party or reunion, this is the perfect spot! Chefs Michael and Emily Castillo never fail to create an exceptional culinary experience that will delight you and your guests! Services available include plated dinners, buffet and family style meals, hors d’oeuvres, and desserts (and cakes!), based on availability

Guest access
The Ranch is available for you to explore, including hiking, canoeing and fishing on the tank, and enjoying the wildlife, woods and outdoors. There is a creek on the northern edge of the property and a shooting range for target practice.

Other things to note
This is a country setting - it is beautiful and serene, but realize that there are all kinds of animals, creatures and bugs - we are living in their world. Respect nature and be safe. No unauthorized pets please. We love all animals, but let’s please discuss any pet you are considering bringing, for their safety. An extra cleaning fee may apply.

The cows and horses are curious and large! Best to visit with them from the opposite side of the fence. Please avoid the horses if the ranch dogs are around, as the horses can become unpredictable and skittish.

All Vehicles must be kept inside the carport or fences at all times. We cannot be responsible for damage by livestock.

Also, this is a lovely old house on blocks, with an awesome porch all the way around - you can always find shade and a breeze. However, there are no railings on the porch that would block the views, so please take care to remain ON the porch.

Tip Alert!!: We have an amazing massage therapist (Nathaly) that will travel to the Ranch (based on availability). An awesome one hour massage is about $75 with a $30 travel/set up fee. She is in line with the best massages we have ever gotten. Let us know if you would like to add a massage to your visit!

Location

Hallettsville, Texas, United States

We are located centrally between Houston, Austin & San Antonio - easy day trips from the Ranch. Also, the surrounding communities are wonderful and each have their own culture and charm. The local wineries (Majek Vineyard - Lynn & Randy Majek are wonderful!, Whistling Duck Winery, and Blue Mule Winery) are fun to visit, and the Painted Churches are simply beautiful. A beer joint tour is always a hoot too. The Spoetzel Brewery, home of Shiner beer, has tours and a tasting room with all things Shiner. Check their hours before you go. Bluestem is a treasure - bakery, artisianal Texas gifts, wine, grass fed beef and pork, etc! A must see! West of Shiner. Antiques, Arts and Beer is fun stop to explore.

Splashway Water park is in nearby Sheridan - fun for the whole family. “Found” in Hallettsville is great for treasure hunting and Tillie’s Cafe in Schulenburg is a great spot for coffee and fresh banana bread or a yummy sandwich.

Lots of small town things to do, or just simply enjoy the ranch - fish, explore the woods, play games, build a bonfire for s’mores, watch for shooting stars! - It’s a little piece of heaven out here!
