The space

Delightful cottage with big garden, orangery and fireplace.

A path from a main street will take you into my secluded cottage which is away from the noises of a busy town. So if you want to listen to bird songs in the morning..look no further!

My cottage is divided into an area of natural light overlooking the views of a big garden with well established trees and shrubs and another where you can relax by the fire in a comfortable and more subdue environment.

Situated within walking distance from the town centre. There is also a regular bus services to the wonderful medieval town: the authentic and historical gateway to mid and north Wales.
Shrewsbury is the town on the mighty river Severn slap bang in the middle of Shropshire, an area of outstanding beauty laden with medieval castles and iron age hill forts; blessed by a variety of hills and country walks to suit the needs of any keen hikers or lover of walks.

There are 2 bedrooms at the cottage, with a double and single "real beds".
Also there is a double sofa-bed in the orangery with natural light.
All duvets at the property are of the finest quality ( down goose, 10.5 tog ).
The bedding includes Egyptian cotton.
Extra beddings can be arranged at time of booking.
Clean towels, soap and shampoo are standard. You could request dressing gowns too.
Hairdryer and European plugs as standard supplied.
It might be wise to bring some light slippers with you as the cottage is lay out with ceramics and wooden floors.

Guest access

My guests can access the whole of the cottage and the garden surrounding the property up to the conifers on the left looking at the garden with your back to the conservatory. The access to the house is through a narrow footpath away from the main road and it is shared with other two cottages.

Interaction with guests

I will greet my guests at the beginning of their stay and I will show them round the house. I will try to be as flexible as I can but it'll be best to discuss time of arrival before hand. Sometimes I won't be able to greet you in person depending on time of arrival but I will send you an email to help you finding the location and I will be a phone call away.

The neighborhood

My cottage is located on a quiet street just off the main North/south artery, the A49 to Hereford.
I like the fact that is quiet but it is also within close proximity to the town centre and I can walk to through lovely houses and a park and beautiful trees and a bridge across the Severn to get to a buzzy town centre full of little shops full of characters, a castle, lovely bars and restaurants and pubs etc....

Getting around

There are buses to the town centre right outside my street. And there is plenty of parking on the road.

Other things to note

I'd like my guest/s to be extremely careful in making sure they switch the gas cooker off and all the knobs are turned off properly.
My two immediate neighbours have access at the back of my garden but they very rarely use it and if they do they are very discrete.
Also I have one single bed in the smaller room but I can fit a single mattress next to the bed or I can put a mattress in the sitting room if you don't want to use a double pullout in the conservatory.
This is a no smoking house.
No pets.

Check in is anytime after 3PM

• Check-in time is after 4pm

I'd like my guest to respect my neighbours by keeping noises down after 11pm.
I do no like outside shoes upstairs.
My cottage is smoke free.
Also I do not tolerate people getting drunk and spilling alcohol over my rugs and furniture.
I like my guests to feel comfortable and make use of my space as if it was their own home.

Our stay at Laura's place was really pleasant. We cooked three consecutive nights on the run and played board games around the very spacious conservatory table. Laura kindly allowed us to bring our pet labrador Dixie, as we were let down by our dog minder at the last minute. Shrewsbury is a lovely pleasant walk which took about 7/10 minutes, lots to see and do. Also a couple of local pubs even nearer if that is what you are after. The house is slightly hidden and a walk from the main road, but we did feel very safe and secure. We would definitely recommend Laura's home to others.

We had a great time staying at Laura's place in Shrewsbury. It just outside the centre of town but within 20-30 minutes walk. The house was lovely and very cosy especially with the fire on. If in the area again would definitely stay.

Nice house. Cosy living room with wood burner, wood provided. Only issue we had was finding the property in the dark, as it was behind other houses and difficult to see access. Otherwise it was all very pleasant.

This is a beautiful and expansive property, tastefully decorated and in a quiet secluded space just outside Shrewsbury. The host was excellent - communicative and helpful and flexible. Highly recommended.

Laura kept in contact with us and welcomed us personally, she even hsd a bottle of wine and fresh flowers. Laura's house was perfect for our stay in Shrewsbury, it is a 15 minute walk to the middle of town and in a quiet area. It is incredibly comfortable with great amenities, very comfy beds and sofas and lovely orangery. We would thoroughly recommend Laura's house.

Laura's house was a great base for our visit to a family event in Shrewsbury. It is centrally located and easy to get into town and to the river. There was a big group of 5 adults and a toddler and we felt that the house was clean, spacious and light and comfortable for our needs. The conservatory really lets the light in and is lovely to sit in. The garden was a sun trap and we enjoyed eating breakfast outside. The beds were comfortable and the appliances all worked well. Thanks, Laura!
