About the neighborhood, from NY times article:
"South of Fifth has emerged as the most expensive section of Miami Beach. A string of high-rise condos along the water are selling apartments for record prices.
Last year, a penthouse at one of two Continuum towers sold for $25 million, then the highest sale for an apartment in Miami Beach. In late December, a penthouse at the neighboring Icon tower sold for just under $21 million, a record for a bay-facing apartment in the city.
More than a dozen restaurants, including several considered the most exclusive in Miami Beach, have opened in the neighborhood, which is also home to the 18-acre South Pointe Park."

Interaction with Guests

The swimming is marvelous, as the sandy beach has a gentle slope, with crystal clear water that is luxuriously warm and soothing! During a good share of the year you can swim for hours without even getting a chill. It's wonderful to go for a swim a couple of hours before sunset, and then paddle around as you watch the spectacular play of ever-changing colors dappling the waves as the sun dips below the horizon.
There are terrific restaurants, clubs, and bars nearby, as well as wonderful designer shopping, and you'll be staying in the historic Art Deco District, in a secured and authentic Art Deco building. You are virtually next-door to the lovely and entertaining Lummus and South Pointe parks, as well as the world-famous and extremely cool Nikki Beach Club!
- Local Bus: Ride for only 25¢ per trip. Buses run every 15-20 minutes daily, stopping at popular destinations throughout SoBe.
Taxis and of course Uber are everywhere
- Decobike is a Miami Beach Bike Rental program, runs 24 hours per day and rental rates start at $4 for a thirty minute access pass. Stations throughout SoBe
-Most people choose not to get a car as everything is close to the apartment, however there is street metered parking or a valet lot 1 block away that charges anywhere from $15-$30 a day. Weekly rates can be negotiated. Also parking is often available 3 blocks away for $10/day

Ted is a very friendly Host, we had a lot of advises from him in order to have the best holidays in Miami.
The house is clean and cozy in a fantastic zone, everything is nearby with amazing ocean view that is just in front , two steps !!!
We had a very nice period in Ted's house (5 days) and we hope to see him soon in Italy !
Ted's Miami Beach apartment was awesome and just as pictured. We stayed for just under a week. They were extremely responsive when we needed a few items (brought us a beach umbrella to go along with the chairs :))
Quick walk to the pool and then to the beach. Each morning we brought coffee down to the beach yoga which is located very close to the building.
Would recommend and I really appreciate the responsiveness and recommendations provided by Ted.
The experience was great unbelievable location mins away from the beach and places to eat. Felt like I was in my own home.
We recently stayed for 5 nights.
Ted was very accommodating and helpful. Because we had a car he recommended that we explore the Wynwood neighborhood, which was a real gem.
The combo of the location and the price is what makes this place work. The unit is located on the beach and only a short walk to water. It is on the quiet part of Ocean Dr and only a 5-10 minute walk to the heart of Ocean Dr.
Parking is a bit tricky. The nearby lot on Ocean Dr charges $25/night and the one off Collins and 4th charges $30/night. We used the one off Collins and 4th and it came with in and out privileges. Starting the 4th night we figured out how to park in the Pay slots on the street. If you time it right you can save a few bucks/night.
Although the apartment was recently remodeled, it still shows its age. The two window ACs have to run non-stop and still don't cool the room down completely during the day. Even when clean, the shower feels a little dirty. My wife got freaked out because she saw a cockroach on the stove, but luckily it was just the one.
If you plan to do laundry, there is one washer/dryer combo available for the 3rd floor. Take plenty of quarters and either do your laundry early in the morning or late in the evening. It was a challenge to find a time when no one else on the floor was using the washer/dryer.
Given the price and the location, I would stay here again.
Glad you enjoyed your stay, Christopher!
As for parking, the lots on Ocean are the most expensive, those a few blocks away (like the one on Washington and 4th Street) are more reasonable. All the lots generally offer discounted rates for stays of a few days.
The tub has been recently refinished but there are still some parts where paint chips show through. Fortunately this is not dirt, just a mismatch in color in certain spots.
Each of the A/C's are rated to cool a room twice the size of the one they are in, so it's a bit surprising that it was not fully cool, and no one has mentioned this before. I do understand that some people have different tolerances for temperature range!
Happy to hear that overall you found the accommodations satisfactory, we do strive to offer a pleasant experience.
Great location. It is away from all the touristy area. The beach is not crowded either. Plenty of space to spread out.
Everything perfect! Place is like paradise! The apartment is bigger than it seems on the pictures! The pool and the beach ☆☆☆☆☆! Wish to come back soon! Thank you Ted!
Great apt, literally steps away from the beach.

I'm a South Beach local of 20 years.
I love it here and I'm happy to be able to help others experience my paradise!
I'm a total music fanatic, eclectic taste ranging from Dire Straits to Killing Joke, lately some Florence and the Machine, M83 and other "underground mainstream" (if there is such a thing)
Like to play drums and design sounds when I can, mostly Industrial.
Reading Stoic Philosopher Seneca lately (you should check him out!), and the bible always.
Love watching a good foreign film (even a mediocre foreign film for that matter, over a domestic one).
Favorites include "Kontroll" (Hungary), "Dogs Will" (Brazil) "City of Men" and "City of God" (definitely Brazil) "Bibliotheque Pascal" (Hungary)(I'm beginning to notice a pattern here)
When I get my own act together enough I want to operate an orphanage in an appropriate third world city to give some kids a chance at a nice life.
Trying my best to live spiritually while keeping one foot in the material world.
Restore motorcycles for fun and ride a Ducati Monster pretty much every day.
Novice videographer with large aspirations, barriers to entry just disintegrated!
Not in it for the money, so I can't go wrong.
I enjoy visiting the Caribbean and South America to keep things in perspective. Helps one realize how much we have while also reminding how little it takes for people to be happy.
My life motto would be "What's Next?"
