Glamping with yoga and spa. A relaxing getaway. 30 minutes drive to legendary Trollstigen road - one of Norway’s most iconic routes, 15 minutes drive to UNESCO fjord Tafjord. We offer B & B accommodation, free and safe parking, a shared lounge, wifi, well equipped kitchen, gardens. High standard of common area. The property also features a barbeque as well as a sauna and cold pond - all included the price, also morning yoga 3 days a week. Beautiful river passing by. Together 5 airbnb profiles.
The space
Our concept blends the magic and romance of sleeping under canvas with comfort.
The price includes:
- Delicate bed linen and towel, beds fully made.
- Living room and kitchen for guests only.
- Homemade breakfast with sourdough bread/rolls, jam and local berries, juice, freshly baked croissant and muesli, coffee/tea. Farmers egg.
Wood-fired sauna, at 17 - 22.00
- Morning yoga on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. At 08.30, 50 minutes.
- Lovely bathhouse with shower/wc, lounge and a small viewing tower.
- Entrance to Japanese-inspired garden with carp pond (partially fenced). Children under 10 years of age only admitted when accompanied by adults.
- Coffee machine/tea.
- Barbecue.
Spa shop with nature-based spa products.
You can book extra yoga if instructor is available, Nok 240,- pr. person. You have access to the most lovely sauna in the area. If you didn´t reach to enjoy the sauna for free in the evening, ordering an extra sauna in the morning will cost NOK 200 per person. Extra towel nok. 50,-.
What you get: Stylish furnished private tipi in lovely surroundings, placed on a wooden platform. You can enjoy luxury beds with feather duvet, Norwegian wool blanket - both under and over you, towels, and 2 relaxing chairs, battery candles. The tent has very good breathing trait and also windows possible to open at warm nights.
Access dining room and well equipped kitchen. You can enter a Japanese garden with a dam and koi fish. Outside sitting groups and relaxation chairs for sunny days. Grill area.
The retreat is situated right by the river Valldøla. It is a quiet spot surrounded by beautiful nature. Also possible to start short hikes directly from the camp.
Choose from many spectacular attractions and beautiful hikes with fjord views only a short distance from the retreat. Our glamping camp is a unique accommodation you won't soon forget, only 3.5 km from the center of Valldal by the beautiful Norddalsfjord. This is truly the definition of a holiday where you can relax from everyday stress in beautiful nature with a taste of luxury.
Accommodation in the period 12 May - 28 September. With a down comforter, woolen blanket above and below you, and perhaps a hot water bottle, you will stay nice and warm. If you want a fan room in the tent, make a reservation in advance. Many people get their best sleep here with nature close by. A different accommodation suitable for those who love nature and are interested in an experience.
The bath house is open 24 hours a day and is aesthetically decorated. The whole place has a lot of atmosphere. Popular for friends, couples and small families and groups.
The retreat is a former nursery that Merete's parents ran. A glass greenhouse is now a studio for morning yoga. With nature close by, the yoga session becomes an experience for the senses.
With us, you are welcome to just stay overnight and relax without participating in our activities and offers. You can also create your own spa stay with yoga, sauna and possibly order a massage (order at least 1 day in advance).
Sauna: Let us know 1 hour before if you want us to heat up the sauna.
Merete's Garden is 85 km from Jugendbyen Ålesund, while Åndalsnes railway station. is 50 km away. The nearest airport is Ålesund Airport, Vigra 95 km away.
Here you can enjoy Norwegian nature and have good comfort at the same time.

Merete will welcome you at arrival and show you the tent and the facilities. You will also meet the host in the morning teaching yoga or lighting the sauna for you in the evening. We also help you finding suitable hikes or what to do in the area.

Here lives 3 lovely cats which you might bump into outdoor. Also a dog, Bowie, which is always in a leash.
No heating in the tent but possible to borrow a heating bottle and extra blanket if needed.

Only 3,5 km to the center of Valldal where you find grocery stores, restaurants, coffees, beach and kayak rental. If you like climbing, canyoning, rafting or guided hikes etc. that is also possible.
Valldal is knowen for its great mountains, vast valleys, deep fjords, and historical Norwegian farmland. Its a fruity area and in Summer time you can taste the sweetest strawberries and cherries. Go foraging in the wild forest picking blueberries or visit one of the farmers to buy ready picked berries and fruits.
For rainy days we suggest bowling and local pizza at Kulå Bowling. And if you like an drink or à la carte meal we can recommend 3-4 posibilities.

My life motto is “Love, live, laugh” – I try to overlook the trivialities and bring out the good things in life. Rarely only on a beach holiday, like visiting beautiful towns and countries . Is the dish of vegetarian food, grows organically and would like to help take care of the earth and to heal our health. When you're enjoying Merete's Garden, you'll probably find me in the garden, tending to a flower bed or feeding the fish in the pond. So you will be able to meet both cats and fish here at the garden. Happy to show you hiking trail through the forest and river or other beautiful stads to meditate, swim and relax.
