Let's get started!
~~ Rosie's Cove ~ღ~ Riverbend Nook ~~
There are 4 accommodations to choose from at Rosie's Cove:
Riverbend Gem ~ Master Bedroom, Queen Bed
Riverbend Nook ~ Bedroom-Den, Full-Double Bed
Riverbend Sweet Spot ~ Common Room, Double Futon
Riverbend Cozy Corner ~ Common Room, Single Futon
This listing is for Rosie's Cove Riverbend Nook, the middle Bedroom~Den of Rosie's Cove which includes a super comfy full-double bed, hand-painted & sustainably harvested wood night stand with reading lamp, entertainment center armoire with guest storage space, shabby-shique bakers rack shelves for clothing and personal items, wooden hope chest, colorful wicker hamper, beautifully hand-dyed wall tapestry, and large window with flowy curtains that fills the room with wonderful light and river breezes throughout the day. Gorgeous, peaceful roof- and tree-top view. Soft, cozy 100% cotton linens washed in natural laundry soaps. As is standard with Dens in the US, The Nook is the more petite of the two bedrooms...a 'roomette'!
Shared bathroom. Some natural bath/body products and hair dryer available. Guests should bring or purchase upon arrival their own, personalized toiletries as desired. Breakfast available upon request for additional fee depending upon availability of host and desires of guest. Tea, coffee, cookies &/or fruit always available!
Rosie's Cove Riverbend Nook is perfect for individuals and couples, students, young professionals, late-night crowd, and any flexible travelers looking for a gorgeous, homey, happy, fun, communal, peaceful place to stay on a budget! This is a private 'shotgun' style Bedroom-Den (each room connects to the following room, like beads connect to each other on a necklace) which is the middle bedroom of the apartment with doors on both sides, as well as a privacy curtain separating sleeping space from the hallway. 2/3 of the Nook contains furniture and living space for guests selecting to stay in this room while 1/3 of the Nook--the hallway space-- is used for bookshelves that guests are invited to read from and dresser/shelving that host uses.
This room is not a common room--you will not be sharing sleeping quarters with other guests, and it is low traffic. However, because of the 'shotgun' layout, there is less privacy than the Master Bedroom and guests staying in the Master Bedroom will occasionally pass through the hallway of the den during the day or may need to tiptoe through the hallway to the shared bathroom at night...zzz ;*). Also, guests staying in the Den will pass through the Common Room to reach their room or the kitchen/bathroom/front door--other guests or the host may occasionally sleep in the Common Room at night, depending on guest interest. On a privacy scale, Rosie's Cove rates the Riverbend Nook Room an 8 out of 10.
Rosie's Cove Riverbend Nook also, is the closest bedroom to the kitchen where you are apt to find Rosie's Cove Proprietress brewing up some fresh herbal teas, simmering a pot of homemade soup, baking fresh bread or dicing a salad with local veggies from the community garden :*) Come on in for a taste!
As noted, this is a shared apartment. Each room is priced according to amenities, size, and level of privacy. Please be prepared to enjoy the communal style living offered and that you are selecting if you choose Rosie's Cove for your stay. Guests should also be aware that if you choose to stay during festivals, holidays, graduations, or large-scale events, you are coming at peak time and each room may be fully booked. If you feel you are looking for ultra private accommodations with your own bathroom, entrance, or amenities that should be catered only to your needs...this may not be the best fit for you. All are welcome but please choose this location based on your excitement with the offerings, as well as desire to interact with host & other guests, rather than simply on price or convenience. Rosie's Cove is Holistically-oriented for all!

Rosie's Cove offers healthy-style accommodations for all! Rosie's Cove is a smoke-free environment. This includes both indoor and outdoor spaces--apartment, balcony, courtyard patio, shed, steps, walkways outside of entrances--or anywhere on or near the premises. Guests smoking anywhere on premises will kindly be asked to leave without refund. Rosie's Cove also is unable to accommodate guests who intend to smoke off of the property and then return to the apartment--due to the lingering smoke smell. Guests smoking off premises and returning smelling heavily of smoke will kindly be asked to leave without refund.
The above house rule does not include guests occasionally attending clubs and bars where smoking is permitted since smoking is still commonplace in many New Orleans clubs and bars. However, to protect clientele, bartenders, and musicians, many local music and drink venues have voluntary committed to offering a smoke-free atmosphere! Check out 'Let's Be Totally Clear New Orleans' online for a regularly updated list of smoke free venues and daily shows.
Please remember, Rosie's Cove is my home--not a vacation rental. Kindly treat the apartment with respect and gentleness, just as the host strives to do with all guests!

I arrived a day later than i had booked and acceptes the cost of the lost nigt - an easy teade dor staying longer with friends further north. Rosie's Cove is in a lovely location, even though it's not close to the French Quarter action - if that's what you're in NOLA for - and not eceryone is. I arroced and was greetwd by some lovely guests as Jennifer was away. Stairs at the back of the property lead up to a tight hallway past the bathrpom and kitchen, into a small 'lounge' that hoised two futons for guests, into the room I had, a walk through partitioned off with curtains providing sufficient privacy. The main bedrom of the house was gorgeous ( I admit I had a sneaky peek when the occupanta had checked out). There were xlean towels for me which I made good use of after a long drive from Atlanta before heading out. Very close to the trolley car, I took this into the Drench Quartee - unfortunately here was a lot of roadworks foing on and we were on and off trolley and bua. Trolley cars run all noght, which I did not take advantage of, I stead deciding to walk home. Bas isea for my feet and I lost my wallet on the way (LA polixe and security staff at the Riverwalk shopping plaza were awesome). I also lostmy key and used one luckily located in the apot where I had picked mine up from. My legs and feet sure appreciated the above geound pool when I managed to find my way home! The next day I attemptws to find a place to get a new key cut but it wasn't until Jennifer replied rather late to my message that I was ablw to do so - within 20 mins of the hardware store closing! Phew! I cut Jennifer 2 extra as spares as she explained ahe had none as they go missing every 3 months or so. Jennifer was quite angry I had taken the last one earlier in the day on my search for a locksmith. I think there was a $50 lost key fee which Jennifer waivered which was greatly apprecited in loght of my lost wallet. I arose early on my next morning so I could wash and dry he sheets and towels and remake the bed, at 3am as I was leaving at 5am. Pictures of the room were sent to Jennifer as part of the checkout process.
Rachael is a nice, friendly person over all-as I noted in her review-BUT unfortunately, she seemed to be caught up in her own world a bit much to make a very fine guest for how Rosie's Cove shared/intentional community is described, advertises for guests, and functions best. For instance, Rachael was very scattered and messy, moved a heavy antique wall mirror in the room she stayed to hang on one small hook (failed to tell me, consider that it might not be safe/convenient for others, or move it back) in her room that should not have been moved. She kept her personal space super dirty, which I received complaints about from others in the apt passing by. She ALSO lost my house key, along with her wallet, one night (as she describes), then slept in until one the next day ( she informed me), cancelled all of her cards first earlier in the day (what was important to her), and didn't bother to notify me about losing my key until late in the day (she failed to mention that in her review or act with haste about what was important to me-Rosie's Cove-other guests), which is why I also contacted her back late in the day. I'm not sure how it didn't occur to her to contact me, even with a text, right away about a lost key but rather, nearly 24 hours later. Moreover, without thinking or communicating, she simply took another key that was meant for an additional guest, who would have been locked out, creating a series of problems and negative Airbnb experiences for others in the process. In fact, contrary to Rachael's statement, I was not 'angry' about her losing my key (it happens from time to time, and I do not stress about those sorts of things, just try to expediently fix them, as I said to Rachael) or taking someone else's key but rather, utterly baffled and shocked by her non communication or consideration about a respectful, mindful process outside of her own desires for any of the above choices. As a favor to Rachael not to charge her $50 and deal with more administrative conversations, I allowed her to have a key cut. I did not ask, nor need, for her to cut more and certainly, do not rely on guests for my own policies or procedures. As a final note, when incoming guests arrived, they found a toothbrush with toothpaste on it sitting atop the bed and the same toothpaste smeared on a curtain above the bed. Additionally, one bed pillow was missing (still unaccounted for), and Rachael had moved a pillow from my wood chest seat used for back support to the bed instead. Again, all of these choices may have been accidents by Rachael but disorganized, unmindful, and a whirlwind to deal with nevertheless!
I had a nice stay here. It is at a very nice location that not to far from downtown but still in an area where there is things to do at night. I never met her but her directions were clear and easy to understand.
I enjoyed my stay at Rosie's Cove! Jennifer was very helpful and was prompt at responding to messages. The apartment is in a safe area which is close to the downtown/French quarter area. I would say about a 10 minute drive. The apartment was clean and filled with character and charm.
Rosie's Cove is spot-on with the description, but it's simply better than words. Beautiful comfy place in a really nice NOLA neighborhood, great vibes, super friendly atmosphere, and the best sandwich cookies on earth. I appreciate a good host; however, Jennifer is just stellar. She's bright, funny, intelligent, has great energy and an enlightened grasp on the world. Thank you so much for such a wonderful stay, Jennifer :)
Jennifer creates a homely atmosphere for this cosy place. The entire apartment is very clean and neat. Jennifer is very welcoming and helpful in answering our questions.
The nook, at Jennifer's place, is a peaceful, cozy and 'pizpireto' space to stay in. I simply loved it. Plus it is clean and so colourful. Gracias, Jennifer.
The cove was a really welcoming place that always smell good and was well located. The neighborhood feel safe and have a lot of restaurants and small stores. Also, the streetcar that go downtown was easily accessible. Jennifer gave me precise indications and was open to friendly answer my questions without being too intrusive.
