  • I booked for a quiet weekend, but left after one night. The description was so inaccurate.
My room backed on to a concrete yard full of roosters used for cock fighting. They didn't just crow when the sun came up, but screeched throughout the night. I got no sleep.
There actually weren't any ricefields to be seen from the property. The photos show that there were rice fields previously, but they had been paved over apparently recently to make to build a new subdivision. So the photos are not an honest representation of the surounds or the view. There's one patch below the pool, but it looked like it was in use as a pig's trough; very muddy and strewn with debris.
The bed is described as a 'real bed' but its a pair of foamies put together on wooden platforms (no supportive slats or springs so very uncomfortable.) Also there was no blanket on the bed. It wasn't communicated there would be no blanket and in my frequent trips to Bali I have never stayed anywhere with beds that don't come with a blanket, so you wouldn't necessarily be prepared for this. I wasn't, I didn't bring my own blanket.
My room was not the one I was sold. The one in the pics shows a double door with windows to each side, the one I got was not like this at all.
Actually, I was a bit mislead by the description. I thought I was staying at a private residence. There are actually about 16 rooms for rent here. It feels like more of a sprawling backpackers hotel.
Of concern also was the overwhelming stench of human waste at the front entrance. I assume there were some major plumbing problems.
I never met Morgan, but I did deal with a staff member. It's fair to say that I didn't feel very well taken care of by him. When I arrived he managed to collude with the driver to charge me 5 times what the price should be. They insisted on 150,000 rupiah, ($15) when the price from Batu Belig is 4,000 rupiah ($4). I knew I was being tricked by them both. The accommodation staff then admitted that Id been charged 'way too much' but that he 'didn't want the driver upset with him'. I pointed out that now he had a guest upset with him. :(
I rented a scooter from them and found that the headlight didn't work. The streets aren't lit so it was very scary and dangerous getting back that night. I told the guy and he said it was fine because thats what they rent to all the guests. I pointed out they were putting other guests lives in danger too. All up I didn't get the feeling that the staff cared about the guests, they were just trying to find more things to charge them for.
I'll note also the property isn't 'traditional Bali style' for those who are new to Bali.

  • This place is absolutely amazing. The villa is beautifully designed in Balinese style. The staff is very sweet and always helpful in any regards. We initially planned to stay for three nights but ended up staying there for an entire week. We rented scooters from the villa and from there it's a 8min drive to the beach, yoga studios etc. we really enjoyed the fact that it is a bit further up the hill away from the usual tourist areas around Kuta.
    Would definitely recommend staying there!

  • Gorgeous villa in a secluded area, nice last stop for a rest and away from Bali's hustle and bustle. Though unfortunately, for a few hours during the day, there was construction going on in one of the padi fields nearby, can't stop the sprouting of hotels in Bali I guess! Good service from the local staff, highlight was darling Baby ( or Bébé?), such a cute and friendly mutt!

  • Actually we stayed 2 times there, because I liked the place very much. The rooms are big and spacious, the staff very friendly, the whole place nicely furnished with wooden elements! Due to the description, the place is on the countryside, surrounded by rice fields, with only 30 minutes away from Seminyak. Would love to come again.

  • I spent a wonderful 12 days at Morgan at the villa.
very comfortable , spacious, has a swimming pool . clean. Daily room cleaning .
Good WiFi throughout the villa , a delicious breakfast.
attentive staff. there is another villa close to the restaurant - from there you can always bring lunch / dinner. very tasty and quick.
the only time - on foot you reach quickly to the beach or the city, or you have to use a taxi or , if driving yourself / motorbike - you can rent and use.
in this case - the location is just perfect .
The villa is in the village - you can get an idea of how to live in Indrnezii . I loved the people of this village. always polite and friendly , ready to help and offer their services.
I recommend everyone this villa to suit your opportunities to move .
and travelers and families with children.
Morgan, the next visit I learn to drive a motorbike and come back to you ...))) offers you good !

  • Perfect place in Canggu. I'd like to escape the crowds in Kuta but still like to be central. 15 min drive on scooter to beaches (for surf) makes it perfect.
