About This Listing
15 min. from the Caledon Pan Am Equestrian Games. Big front porch, stream running through property, private, treed acre close to hiking, biking and skiing trails, Forks of the Credit and conservation areas.
This beautiful, relaxing home is situated on the Niagara Escarpment and has a stream running through the property. When not buried by snow we have a firepit for a nighttime bonfire, use of the deck and BBQ. It is a little piece of paradise - 10 minutes to all amenities (LCBO, grocery stores, movie theatre, restaurants etc.) but still quiet and peaceful in the countryside.
Three km away there are convenience stores, an Italian restaurant and a few fast food options as well.
We see a lot of bikers (both motor and non) come by our place as the hills are perfect for this activity.
We can even assist with arranging in-house massage with an experienced, local massage therapist.
I do have another room on the same floor that has a Queen-sized bed with pillow-top mattress that is listed with Airbnb. We would consider renting out the house to a group.
Towels & linens are provided. Note - you are welcome to use the kitchen but we do not provide meals.
Shared (with other guest room) bathroom (with soaker tub and separate shower) beside the bedroom. Guests can use library/living room, shared kitchen (I do not provide breakfast), complimentary coffee and tea and there is a TV room. There is an extra bathroom on the main floor as well.
Interaction with Guests
I do work full-time from an office on the property. So I am around or my staff is around but can get very busy. That said, I will make myself available when needed!
Walk or bike through the hills for stunning views. Horse farms abound in this neighbourhood.
The closest transit is limited Go transit that stops approximately 3.5 km away from the house. You will need a vehicle of some sort to get around.
Other Things to Note
You will need to have Verified I.D. to book here.
There are stairs to get into the house and stairs to the bedroom.
Guest rooms have a keyed lock.
We have a cat.
I ask only that my home be treated with respect and that guests pick up after themselves.
No smoking in the house please.
If you are staying more than one day please note that we do not clean the room or make your bed on a daily basis. We will do that once a week if you are here that long. Towels can easily be replaced and freshened as desired (we leave a stack of clean ones in the bathroom).
Cara is an extraordinary woman of many talents not the least of which is her excellence as a hostess. She is welcoming without being effusive, accommodating but not imposing. Her home and property are country chic in a pastoral setting near the woods along a babbling brook.Proximity to local services is convenient;the drive to downtown Toronto,(website hidden) bedroom and bath were clean and comfortably appointed with quality linens and an excellent mattress.I enjoyed a month long stay with Cara and plan to return in the autumn.
Cara's house was a great spot to stay. It was very convenient in that the city is not too far away that you can't visit the city daily. It is also very nice if you want to get out of the city. The house was clean, the family was super friendly and I would recommend this place to anyone. If I go back to the same area, I will definitely try to get this place again.
This was the 2nd of my 4 ( so far) booked stays with Tara & Company.
Tara is thoughtful and considerate and welcomes you into her home with such an open heart.
Little things, like from leaving the porch lights on at night so you do not miss the driveway, to making sure that the awesome coffee maker ( that grinds its own beans) just before it pours out into your mug is always ready to go ...to the weekly cleaning changing the sheets etc!
This beautiful home is truly an oasis, especially for creative types looking to work in a peaceful setting.
Cara was in touch with me prior to my arrival and made sure that I knew where to go and that I could get in with a code. That was very helpful.
She is a lovely person, the room was clean and spacious. I only wish
that it was not raining so I could have enjoyed a moment outside by the stream…but I heard it and it was the first pleasant thing about the place.
I recommend it.
Cara was wonderful. The room and home were exactly as listed. She was very welcoming and had fresh, filtered water for us in our room. Everything we needed was available for us. The house was beautiful and we really enjoyed her fantastic home.
Thank you again.
What a deal! Along with such extra's as a huge yard, a stream running through the grounds (we didn't have a chance to try the trampoline), and a beautiful porch, Cara's place has clean, nicely furnished rooms, with tons of space. The only negative I could come up with is that it's a bit out of the way, but we knew that from the minute we spotted the place on the map. Cara was a great host, and very accommodating, especially considering we had our two dogs with us.
I don't think I can recommend her place more highly!
