Clean, comfortable guest cottage in a beautiful, forested west hills location. 1 bedroom w/ queen bed, 1 bathroom, sleeping loft, well-equipped kitchen, wood floors, washer/dryer, flatscreen cable TV, wifi, parking. Located in the highly desirable Hillside neighborhood.
The Guest Cottage made for a wonderful stay in Portland. Everything was clean and comfortable. Amy was very welcoming, flexible with our check in (as we had early flights), and gave great recommendations about local restaurants. The bus stop was a very short walk from the house and provides transportation straight into downtown. Finally, Season 1 and 2 of Portlandia are available, which we found to be a nice touch. I would definitely recommend a stay at Amy's Cottage.
We have just loved our stay in this quaint cottage. Amy was so welcoming and we felt very comfortable the entire time. This place is just beautiful, clean and just as represented. It is so lush, when we looked outside it was like we were living inside a terrarium. Very close to the bus stop. Two blocks from a great neighborhood filled with eateries and shops. We loved coming back each day to our cozy home. The cottage was roomy, so much better than a hotel! Amy was helpful whenever we needed something. Would recommend highly and we would most certainly return. Just loved everything about it!
What a wonderful place to spend a weekend. Idyllic and peaceful would be the words to describe the setting. Kate and I had a wonderful stay in Amy's cozy little space. We would recommend this place to anyone and would love to stay here again during our next visit to Portland. Thanks again Amy & Chris!

We were met at the cottage with a very nice note and a bouquet of flowers--a good sign of things to come. The cottage was immaculate, as well as nicely stocked, tastefully decorated, and as quiet and comfortable as we could have wished. I stayed with my 12-year-old daughter, who was completely charmed by the sleeping loft (leaving me to enjoy the comfortable bed all by myself!). Amy was extremely friendly and inquired after us on several occasions. It was a great experience and we can't wait to go back!.
For 4 nights/days, I had a little piece of Portland Paradise staying here. Amy's guest cottage is lovely and I enjoyed my stay fully.
Very quiet, private and peaceful - but the bus line is just a few steps away for easy access to all the excitement of Portlandia!
Unique, Spartan, mountain side cottage. Bring your walking cane if you have difficulties with balancing, some steps, plus uneven driveway in dark. Left early for health reasons and forfeited deposit.
What a magical place! It is nestled in a very hilly, charming neighborhood just 2 miles from Pearl District. The place is beautiful, tranquil and cozy -- I thought the pictures did not do it justice. We cooked breakfast every morning and the full fridge was great for all of our leftovers from dining out.
Amy was a very accommodating host. She was a concierge before I even arrived asking me if I needed restaurant recommendations or things to do. She responded quickly and greeted us upon arrival.
My only regret was that I had to leave. We really enjoyed the Japanese Garden (so peaceful), Powell’s Book Store and high tea at the Heathman Hotel. I pointed out to the waiter it was 50 Shades of Tea and he laughed! I wish we had more than a few days in Portland. It is a lovely city..and this is their “off” season!
I'm an educator and my husband is in the lumber business. We're originally from California but have made Portland our home for over a decade. We feel lucky to live in such a beautiful, vibrant place! We treat our guests the way we like to be treated, giving them all the privacy they're looking for but being available to answer questions or give suggestions about places to go and things to do in the area.
For an additional fee, our teenage son is available to run errands for you-- grocery shopping, bringing back take out, etc.
