The space
Come and enjoy the beautiful, central neighborhood of Eastlake in your own, entire house!
The City Cabin was built in 1912 and is one of the last remaining "summer homes" along the shores of Lake Union. We, the owners, have lived next door to the City Cabin for 53 years and love the neighborhood. You'll enjoy watching sailboats, seaplanes, paddle boarders, kayakers, and all the other water activities on the lake, including hot tub boats, barges, workboats, and the occasional ospreys and eagles. The City Cabin is colorful, light, airy, and full of character, with splendid views from every seat in the house, front porch and patio included.
The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and coffee and has a gas stove and oven. We provide linens, a hair dryer, soap, shampoo, and conditioner.
There is one small bedroom on the main floor with a double bed and an amazing open view loft with a super comfy queen bed, accessible by a 7' wooden step ladder.
There are many wonderful restaurants within walking distance as well as one of the best wine shops in Seattle (handy if you like sipping on some wine while watching all the lake activities from the front porch or side patio!). The Cheshiahud Trail takes you from the front of the City Cabin along the lake, past the some of the iconic Seattle houseboats and several little, waterfront parks. MOHAI museum is less than a mile away, and Gasworks Park is a couple of miles from the house. Eastlake is a great walking neighborhood!
You can also easily catch a bus a couple of blocks from the house along Eastlake that will take you to Downtown or the University. The bus also links to the South Lake Union Street Car.
We have one off-street parking spot for a small car.
There is 7' wooden step ladder leading up to the queen bed, view sleeping loft, so please be careful if you use the loft. The City Cabin is not suitable for children.
No parties or smoking on the property, inside or out.
Please respect our neighbors with regards to noise such as outside cell phone use. Quiet after 10pm, please. Thank you!
Welcome to your home away from home!
