Have a Wonderful and Pleasant Stay!
John is a very gracious host. He was helpful and very responsive before we traveled, as well as while we were there. He provided extras, such as snorkel gear, beach towels, etc. The cottage is a separate addition to a house in a quiet residential neighborhood. It has a view of the Pacific and a great screened porch. It's very simple - exactly what we wanted. Pretty close to the "old Hawaii" - no fancy hotels or ritzy shops around. The kitchenette is ideal for breakfast. Location is perfect for exploring Maui. Good value for the money.
The outside is undergoing some renovation/construction but everything was quiet. Inside of the cottage is as described. Lovely neighborhood; especially loved sleeping in the screened-in room with the sound of birds, insects and rain outside. Cottage is in a central location for exploring Hana Highway and also upcountry, north side beaches, but easy drive to the south side as well. We didn't spend too much time at the cottage, but it was so peaceful there--very different experience than staying in a resort or hotel.
John is very friendly and accommodating and met us when we arrived to show us around. He even brought us bananas from the farm. This cottage is very conveniently located to lots of great hikes and quaint towns like Makawao and Paia. The space was very clean and is just as pictured. There were two beds available and we found the one in the screened porch to be the more comfortable of the two — which was ideal since we especially enjoyed waking up to the morning breeze and the sound of birds chirping.
We very much enjoyed our brief stay at the Haiku EverGreen Cottage. It was a perfect location for the start of our 'Road to Hana" trip. The house was large and comfy with a nice screened in porch for our 23 year old daughter to sleep. All the beds were large, comfortable and had very nice linens and there were ample lush towels provided. The full kitchen would have been very useful had we stayed longer than one night.
John and his manager were very responsive to our queries and needs. With his help we found a great place to view numerous sea turtles not too far from the cottage. They also suppled us with yummy bananas from their gardens and some chocolate covered macadamia nuts.
Great, relaxed cottage :) amazing value was very comfy.
Amazing, we couldn't have stayed at a better place! The cottage looks even better than in the pictures. It brings in plenty of sunlight and there are beautiful green plants everywhere.
The bathroom and kitchen were well stocked and the wi-fi was fast. John was very quick with communication the entire time. He was also very nice to loan us boogie boards while we were there.
Highly recommend staying here!
John was a very hospitable and responsible host. It was a really wonderful experience for my friend and I stay in this cottage. We arrived a little bit late on our first day. John was so nice and prepared great food for us. Appreciate it :) You can get everything in this cottage. Just like at home. John was very helpful. The location is good. It takes about 30 mins drive from airport. 1hr drive from this cottage to Lahaina. 2hrs drive to Hana and Haleakalā. It was very quite at night. No tourists around! Every night we slept with the sounds of sea breeze and crickets. When you looked up, thousands of stars stayed with you. It was so so so nice and impressive. We Love It! If you wanna try the local living on Maui, try this!
