Maison Lentilla is a Catalan village house, perfectly situated in the foothills of the Pyrenees close to the Mediterranean, it is ideal for a peaceful or romantic getaway and great for photographers, artists, dabblers, cyclists, walkers, foodies and canyonners. Recently renovated throughout, we created a great roof terrace for al fresco meals. Maison Lentilla is positioned along a small narrow street in the ancient village of Finestret.
Maison Lentilla is a great family house, perfectly situated in the foothills of the Pyrenees and named after the river that flows through the village, It is a charming 2-bedroomed house, built in the established Catalan style. The house has been sympathetically refurbished to a high standard. The renovation was carefully carried out to preserve the character of the property, original wooden beams and exposed stone walls, while bringing a contemporary and comfortable feel to the decor.
The private sun terrace is sheltered and flooded with sunlight throughout the day. It is ideal for entertaining and provides comfortable seating for 4 or more people. What better way to end the day than sipping local wine on the terrace with the swallows dipping and diving around.
Days can be spent sight seeing, walking, cycling or canyoning or just take a gentle stroll along the river.
The village itself is tranquil with fewer than 200 permanent residents, who will offer a friendly “bonjour” as you stroll around the ancient streets.
Popular with walkers, there are many lovely local walks. Finestret also provides a great location to access more serious walks closer to Mount Canigou.
Cyclists can be seen regularly in the area, the local roads around the villages offer a varied and interesting cycle route, plus some more challenging routes should you desire to take them.
Finestret is located close to one the the best places for Canyoning in Europe on the river LLech [pronounced Yakk] near the village of Espira.
The area offers inspiration to artists and photographers enchanted by the clear and golden quality of the area's natural light. Paper, artists pencils, water colours, acrylic paints and brushes are all supplied.
Foodies can indulge themselves with fresh local food at the various markets in the area, we have a list of markets for every day of the week!
Take a trip out and buy a wonderful selection of food and wine. Then on your return to Maison lentilla you can cook up a lovely meal for everyone.
In cherry season there is a PYO on the outskirts of the village.
The hot springs at St Thomas-les-Bains, "The little Yellow Train" that winds up to the high Pyrenees, the Abbeys of St Michel de Cuxa and St Martin de Canigou, the stunning Mediterranean coastal resorts of Collioure and Argelès, the Dali Museum in Spain and many other interesting places, are all within an easy drive of the village.
Guests have sole access to all areas of the house.
We have installed wireless internet so you can keep up with friends and your favourite TV programs whilst sitting out on the terrace.

We, Jonathan and Julie, have been living in France since 2001 and we are still very much in love with this stunningly beautiful region of France. We are married with 4 children and 4 grand children. Spare time is mostly taken up with renovating our derelict house. The apartment advertised in Ria-Sirach as "lovely apartment - large terrace" is the first part of the renovation to be finished and we are very proud of how successful it is.
Our favourite pass-times are eating, drinking, gardening, looking after our 4 chickens and "relaxing". If you get to know us you will realise that "relaxing" is meant to be a joke, it is something that we aspire to in the future.
We help other local holiday home owners to manage their houses, we have a selection of properties that we manage from a one bedroom apartment to 5 bedroomed villas. We have an amazing team of house-keepers, gardeners and pool maintenance people to look after you. If you need anything during your stay in any of the properties we have the expertise to help.
Feel free to contact us with your questions and if you need help in finding the house that is right for you.
