Interaction with Guests
Let us know if you have any questions about fun things to do or great restaurants to check out. There are so many in the area, we also have maps and other resources you may need.
Ukrainian Village is a historic neighborhood centrally located to just about everything in Chicago. The area is VERY safe and safe to park your car. We are only a mile or two from the freeways and a convenient public transit ride away from other neighborhoods (though, there's so much to do within walking distance!) The Empty Bottle is just down the street from us!
You will probably also hear us recommending Bite cafe- they are delicious and we love them. (and they're 1.5 blocks away!)
While our street may be quiet, it is close to all the restaurants, coffee shops, bars, concert venues, and more.
We are located near a number of bus lines, Divvy bike share stations, as well are the CTA Blue Line (the train that goes straight to O'hare Airport). You can walk to a multitude of places as well!
If you are driving, there is plenty of free non permit street parking.
Other Things to Note
Watch your head when you're coming up the stairs. The ceiling is low at one spot and we wouldn't want you to bump your head :)
Our little dogs Charlie and Franklin are super friendly. They are hypo-allergenic Miniature Poodle, so if you hang out in the living room with us, he might just become your best friend. They loves being loved, but also will respect your private space as well.
Please take off your shoes upon entering enter our home.
There is positively NO SMOKING of any kind allowed in our home whatsoever.
Please do not ring the bell for other apartments in our building. It takes us a second to come down from the third floor.
Jason and Ela have a great place. It's just as described and their dogs are the cutest! We were out and about the great 'hood most of the time we were there, so didn't spend a whole lot of time at the place.
Awesome location, lovely apartment, cute dogs and wonderful hosts! Jason and Ela really enriched my experience of Chicago.
Jason and Ela were great! They were willing to accomodate us despite arriving fairly late and we had no problems the entire time we were there. Coffee was always available in the morning and the apartment as a whole was very clean and welcoming.
My boyfriend & I had a great time staying with Jason & Ela. They were extremely hospitable & welcoming and we loved their quirky & bright apartment! They were easy to talk to before our arrival and gave us some fun tips on where to eat & how to get there. Their place was clean & cozy & was in a safe neighborhood. We had an early bus in the morning and they were nice enough to let us use their coffee maker before we left as well. Overall, we had a great stay and would definitely recommend their place.
Great hosts. Cool people to meet and to know. They have suggested good places to hangout, and let me hangout in their living room even though they were working. I would visit them again.
Jason and Ela were warm, welcoming and kind hosts for my very first solo Airbnb experience. They're located in a quiet neighborhood, which resulted in some much needed good sleep!
They recommended eating at Bite around the corner and I am so glad I took their recommendation. The food there was fantastic.
Would definitely stay here again if I am in the area! The room was adorable and the details were thoughtful and fun.
Pleasant 1st time airbnb experience! Appreciated the quality morning coffee and eclectic furnishings..Jason & Ela were very welcoming.

I love the Daily Show and I secretly still aspire to host my own talk show. I love NPR and reading books on my iPad/iPhone.
I love our city apartment- it allows me to moderate my bazillion hobbies from beer brewing on the back porch 5 gallons at a time to keeping a vertical herb garden with a shoe organizer. It's kind of like cooking, but with baby potatoes you know? Plus, it's an excellent excuse to have a cigar collection... because they're small.
I'm a collection of different things- in high school I was on the football team, but also a band geek.
I still could eat pizza for every meal and continuously watch Arrested Development on a loop if you let me.
Louis CK is my favorite comedian.
My key to life is if you're not having fun, then you're not doing it right.
Whenever I can make Ela laugh consider my day made.
