About this listing
Welcome to our Spacious Private room! We live in the historical neighborhood of Ukrainian Village in a third story walk up. You get a private room to relax & unwind on a quiet street just blocks away from buzzing shops & restaurants in Wicker Park.
A wonderfully amazing space on the third floor of a historic 1908 three flat walk up building - free exercise! Our dining room, living room, and kitchen have views of the Willis tower out the window. The room can comfortably sleep two people and has a full sized bed.
Located in the heart of Ukrainian Village/ West Town, we are located on a quiet neighborhood street just blocks away from restaurants, live music, bars, and anything else you could dream of. Let us know if you need any recommendations.
You will have a large private bedroom, with lockers to be able to stow away your personal belongings, and there even is a TV in the room with chromecast if you would like to chill in privacy. We also have ample comfy seating in our living and dining rooms.
Whether you are traveling for enjoyment, or business- our space is much more relaxing than a stuffy hotel room.
If this space is already book checkout our other listing!! The Bill Murray Suite :)
Mi casa es su casa (my house is your house) while you stay here. On a side note, we are huge fans of coffee so there is always a fresh pot (or french press around) Feel free to use our kitchen if you want to cook anything!
Interaction with guests
We work mainly from home and you will share the space with us (hi new roommate!), other guests in the Bill Murray Suite, and our doggies. We are around and available if you need anything or have any questions. Let us know if you have any questions about fun things to do or great restaurants to check out. There are so many in the area, we also have maps and other resources you may need.
Ukrainian Village is a historic neighborhood centrally located to just about everything in Chicago. The area is VERY safe and safe to park your car. We are only a mile or two from the freeways and a convenient public transit ride away from other neighborhoods (though, there's so much to do within walking distance!) The Empty Bottle is just down the street from us!
You will probably also hear us recommending Bite cafe- they are delicious and we love them. (and they're 1.5 blocks away!)
While our street may be quiet, it is close to all the restaurants, coffee shops, bars, concert venues, and more.
We are located near a number of bus lines, Divvy bike share stations, as well as the CTA Blue Line (the train that goes straight to O'hare Airport). You can walk to a multitude of places as well!
If you are driving, there is plenty of free non permit street parking.
Other things to note
Watch your head when you're coming up the stairs. The ceiling is low and were originally made for tiny Ukrainians (people were shorter 100+ years ago) at one spot and we wouldn't want you to bump your head :)
Our little dogs Charlie and Franklin are super friendly. They are hypo-allergenic Miniature Poodle, so if you hang out in the living room with us, he might just become your best friend. They loves being loved, but also will respect your private space as well.

From Chicago, photographer, lover of travel, my wife and dogs.
I love the Daily Show and I secretly still aspire to host my own talk show. I love NPR, The Young Turks, and reading books on my iPad/iPhone.
I love our city apartment- it allows me to moderate my bazillion hobbies from beer brewing on the back porch 5 gallons at a time to keeping a vertical herb garden with a shoe organizer. It's kind of like cooking, but with baby potatoes you know? Plus, it's an excellent excuse to have a cigar collection... because they're small.
I'm a collection of different things- in high school I was on the football team, but also a band geek.
I still could eat pizza for every meal and continuously watch Arrested Development on a loop if you let me.
Louis CK is my favorite comedian.
My key to life is if you're not having fun, then you're not doing it right.
Whenever I can make Ela laugh consider my day made.
