  • Great location, beautiful apartment and everything else as per description.

  • We've stayed in this apartment before and we loved it both times. Great location, tasteful decoration, wonderful hosts. I am sure we will come back in the future. Thanks for a great time.

  • 100% recommended. The apartment was clean and beautiful. Nice place at the middle of Soho. So easy with Stacy!

    September 2013
  • Prior to our stay, Stacy was always short and brief in communications and on asking some questions prior to our arrival, she was pretty brusque, if not rude. Our booking was for 3 people but when we arrived (shattered after a long journey from the UK, 2.5 hours getting through customs and ¾ hour queuing for a cab) to find the air bed and linen were nowhere to be seen. After searching we found the air bed and then various attempts to contact both Stacy and her friend, we then found some bed linen stuffed in a kitchen cupboard. Stacy’s friend arrived 24 hours later and gave us another pillow.
I would say that Stacy makes as little effort as possible, not a single scrap of information on the local area, take away menus etc. The apartment is very nice, pretty clean, some of the stuff we felt it lacked may be due to the culture difference, i.e. no kettle, but I am guessing New Yorkers do not drink tea so that may be why. Kitchen equipment extremely basic too, but again perhaps they do not cook. The couch is an antique piece and the upholstery is ripped and was coming apart and my daughter caught her leg on the upholstery pins which were poking out. Air conditioning units worked well, very noisy but did help disguise the noise from the street and the apartment above. It is very noisy there, but I don’t think you could find another apartment anywhere in the area that wouldn’t be noisy to be fair. The stairs! there are 8 flights of stairs to get you up to the fourth floor, this is not for the faint hearted or the unfit so beware. We did read this from other reviews but until you experience it you do not realise.
We did find it less than ideal having nowhere to put any of our stuff. The few table/chest of drawer surfaces are covered (unnecessarily and over the top in my opinion) in books, mirrors (never seen so many mirrors) and candlesticks and although there was some space in the wardrobe with some spare hangers, there is literally nowhere else to put anything so we lived out of suitcases for the week. Bearing in mind this is not cheap and not much cheaper than staying in a hotel I do not think this is fair. Also no sign of the hairdryer and irons that are in the listing.
The apartment is in a fantastic location, and I would advise that you bring a laptop/iPad with you, we did and it was a godsend for looking up places to eat/subway directions etc.

    Response from VHM Properties:

Every one of Caroline's 15 messages prior to her arrival were answered. She also modified the reservation three times, which I was very patient about dealing with. In addition to a guidebook with all of the best local restaurants, I have a detailed pre arrival package with details on the local grocery stores, delis, pharmacies, and laundromats, so I am not sure what she would mention that I provide no info on the neighborhood. When Caroline broke several cups, I assured her that it was not any big deal. Apparently we have a different opinion on what the word means.

  • Nice appartment, great location & had a blast showering under the discoball!

  • Dropping in to echo the applause already present here. The place was very well-lit and well-furnished. Stacey does a great service in leaving her apartment and personal style/belongings in place. We tried to reciprocate by respecting(and admiring) her things from afar, enjoying our time in the city, and leaving every thing as it was so this fortuitous arrangement can carry on for and be enjoyed by future guests.

some sundry items: It is a fourth or fifth floor walk up--not a huge deal for us at 22/23 yo, but may be for someone with luggage. We parked for free all weekend around the corner on Wooster Street--a nice touch to our weekend. The screens should probably go in soon as summer approaches. The location is unbeatable.

  • My stay at Stacy's place was short but sweet. i had only one night in fabulous Soho but was very happy with my choice of home base. The apartment was bright and spacious with charming decor and eclectic details. ( I loved the rock & roll photos and the vintage dresses. ) And the bed was super comfortable.

Stacy was incredibly friendly, flexible and responsive (early check in, making sure all was ok, etc)--though we didn't get to meet...

You should be aware that it is quite a hike up the stairs if you are hauling lots of luggage (which wasn't an issue for me) and the street noise can a little distracting, but you are nestled in the center of so much energy and action that it's a small price to pay. : )

  • Truly one of my favorite stays in NYC! Stacy's space is not only in one of the best locations to stay in the city, its also beautiful. We really enjoyed her apartment and the neighborhood.

  • I will be honest, I did not spend a huge amount of time there but the time I did spend was lovely. Very nice apartment and building. The neighborhood is great as well. Great hospitality as well from the hosts in order to get keys etc. The apt was clean and very well decorated. I would recommend this to anyone wanting a NYC stayover.
