This apartment is situated in a monumental building, part of the UNESCO- World Cultural Heritage, which was built shortly after World War 2 over the ruins of the destroyed Frankfurter Allee. During the Communist era the apartments were occupied by the some of the Communist party’s most important members as some of its friends and supporters. The building was restored in the 90's after the fall of the wall.

As the apartment is located in residential block and based on an (unfortunate) past experience, there are some important rules that you will have to follow.
From 1.1.2014 the city takes 5% tax. The tax has to be paid on arrival.
Linen and towels are provided and cost 5€ per person.
Be respectful for the property and neighbors.
Check in from 14:00, check out at 11:00 (if possible we can be flexible with the hours)
(website hidden) smoking at the apartment.
2.The apartment is rented for private purpose only – the use of it for commercial use is strictly prohibited.
3.Unauthorized guests are not allowed at the apartment (apart from a reasonable visit). In case the cleaning team or neighborsreport that more guests slept at the apartment, we will calculate a sum of 50€ per extra person per night.
4.Moving furniture is not allowed – in case that furniture have been moved, we will calculate an extra of 40€ for the cleaning team.
5.Loss of key will cost 75€ (as it’s a special security key that has to be ordered).
Noise and cleanliness of the public spaces:
1. After 22:00 is quiet hours – no party shouting, music etc,.
2. When checking in and out, or coming back to the apartment late at night, we ask you to keep quiet in the stairway.
3. In general, no party is allowed at the apartment.
The neighbors have our phone numbers in case they are calling and complaining about a noise, we will have to come to check it out. For that we calculate 30€ until 18:00, and 50€ after 18:00.
6.Garbage has to be separated – plastic, paper, glass and rest. The garbage room is outside of the building, between the playground and the parking lot. Please do not dispose of trash anywhere else, especially not in the house lobby or stairway.
You must not use the Internet for illegal activities, such as illegally downloading music or films. Should the law enforcement authorities later begin investigating, liable is the renter.
Eitan explained everything very well and was perfectly friendly. The location was great and the apartment very clean and spacious.

The appartment is well located and confortable but it was more a "professional" offer than an airbnb appartment as we are used to know it. I’m okay with it because we were there to visit the city but the appartment is supposed to be for 10 people,we were 9 and there wasn’t enough tableware ( spoons and bowls for example).
Paying the city tax and the extra fees for towels/linens when we arrived made us a little bit confused. Why is it not included in the total cost of the appartment ?!
However we had great time in Berlin.

A very nice apartment, a perfect stay for the conference we visited 100 meters down the road.
We were a group of 6 and there was so much space! The listing was exactly as described and it is clear why it is such a popular place! Although a bit noisy on the intersection of two busy streets, we loved the convenience to public transport, shopping, and entertainment. We didn't actually meet Eitan, but he was very responsive to our communications and great to deal with (especially when we broke the washing machine... oops!). We would not hesitate to recommend this listing to large groups of friends for a fabulous place to stay in Berlin!
