La Beuna Nota was in a great location and had what we needed during our trip to the Manuel Antonio area. We were woken up by white-faced monkeys on our first morning there. It was pretty incredible to see so many agile monkeys hop from the roof and from tree to tree. We saw 2 toucans while there, multiple parrots, and even some cute birds began building a nest. The location was amazing! Close walking distance to Playa Espadilla and a nice walk to Manuel Antonio park. The public bus stopped right outside and we took it a couple of times into Quepos. We slept well each night we were there and had a lovely time. If I came in the future I would rent bedrooms 1 and 2 and stay with my kids. Beautiful area.

Anita's place was great for a couple. We had the place to ourselves as there was no one staying in Room 2, which certainly made it feel bigger not having to share with anyone else. The beach is incredibly close - less than a 5 minute walk to the water's edge. The public bus stops right out front, so it is very easy to get to Quepos or Manuel Antonio. The shower was great - plenty of hot water (not a given in a lot of places in Costa Rica!), well-tiled, clean, and spacious.

Anita's place was great - we stayed for 2 nights and had the whole apartment to ourselves which was very lucky. Anita was easy to contact and let us drop our bags off early which was great. The apartment is less than 5 mins from the beach which we loved and the kitchen was fully equipped so we could cook. Only thing to note is the living area does not have curtains nor glass windows (just insect proof mesh) so we felt a little exposed at night to passers by and wildlife. I would recommend staying here regardless as we enjoyed our visit.

Close proximity to the beach (can walk along path and be there in 2 minutes) and easy to get to the national park either by cab or walk if you wish. The entire apartment is not AC, only the small bedroom and the mattress is a bit outdated as you can feel the wires as you lay down. But location is great! Wifi is great!

This place is right off the beach super quick walk and you are right there! Restaurants and Manuel Antonio park is also walkable. You can get picked up by the public bus just outside the house too. So overall the location is awesome!! The house can get very warm due to the tropical setting so the AC in the room is a big help to escape and cool down; just hard utilizing the whole space when it's warm out (but it's hard to come by AC anywhere in town I noticed). Anita was super helpful and attentive as well. She even saved the day when we accidentally locked ourselves out of our room. Great host!

Anita's place met our expectations. The description is accurate. It would be perfect for 2 couples as you'd be guaranteed the whole apartment which is like a home away from home on a fabulous beach! Anita was an amazing host dealing with my disfunctional checkin with grace and recommending a wonderful trip paddling in the mangroves. Thank you x

Anita is a great host! We enjoyed our stay, location is close to beach and Manuel Antonio Nacional Park. Place is clean and with good wifi. In the evening we enjoyed sitting on the balcony, watching stars and listening to sound of waves.

I discover Manuel Antonio 41 years ago after graduating the University of California in Berkeley. Don Melton and myself first did a research project in the National Park and adjoining beaches and decided to make Punta Quepos our home. Don was the local historian and gave educational talks for many groups including National Geografic. We were among the founders of the first Chamber of Tourism in Manue Antonio, founders of ASCONA (Quepos first conservation organization), and have continued to be active in civic and conservations groups to date. I am currently working with a group to establish an animal shelter here in our area. We worked for many years on the problem of drownings (see page 7). I ran my gift shop LA BUENA NOTA for many years and because of my extensive knowledge of Costa Rica, I can answer most questions about our area and some advice about other tourist destinations in Costa Rica.
