We have a treetop view but not an ocean view although it is a short 100 yards on a path next door to the beach. There is a living room with cable TV and internet and a full kitchen for your use. The apartment is shared with one other room.
I have four rooms at La Buena Nota Building located in Manuel Antonio 600 meters before the national park (between hotels Karahe & Pisces) at beach level. We have a treetop view but not an ocean view although it is a short 100 yards on a path next door to the beach. Room 1 ($60) has AC and double bed and shares a bathroom with room 2. Room 2 ($60) has AC and double bed. Sorry we don’t accept children under 15 and no overnight guests that are not registered.
There is a living room with cable TV and internet and a full kitchen for use of all our rooms. There is off street parking but not with security gates.
Sorry no arrivals after 6 pm
Interaction with Guests
I don't live on site but will be there to let you in. I do need to know within an hour of the time you will be arriving and don't usually receive guests at night.
We are 600 meters before the National Park. It is a short walk to the beach by a path next door. Everything is pretty much within walking distance.
Everything is pretty much within walking distance but if you wish to to go out at night or go to downtown Quepos there is excellent bus service which stops right in front of the building. Taxis are plentiful and not very costly. We have off street but not security parking.
Other Things to Note
There is a full kitchen, living room and large deck. Cable TV and WIFI are also provided.
There is an out side faucet for rinsing off when coming back from the beach. The main access gate should be locked at all times. Sorry we don’t accept children under 15 and no overnight guests that are not registered.
Nice place really close to the quietest side of the beach. So glad there was AC in the bedroom! The sun around noon was cooking us and it was great to be able to just take a break during the peak hour of the day to relax in the cold. Anita provided us with several towels for the beach which was really convenient. We think there could at least be the minimum and basic for cooking like salt, pepper, oil, sugar, tea. The closets also smelt musty and the floor wasn't clean. Other than that we definitely recommend this place
Anita was waiting for me at the property and helped me get settled in.
The location is fairly convenient -- about 15 mins. walking down into Manuel Antonio or you can catch the bus going either direction in front of the house. The property is a bit isolated - the front of it is under construction and it looks like a bar is going in, and the back is where the apartments are. I was a bit nervous at night coming home to the very dark and quiet area -- I think that couples or groups would have a much easier time here!
The apartment could have used some more cleaning but was otherwise a good experience, especially as a last minute booking during Semana Santa.
Awesome location! The apartment is a minute walk to the beach and a short drive away from the national park. The room itself wasn't the lap of luxury, but it was clean and spacious. Overall, the apartment was a very good value. Anita was a great host--very responsive and accommodating. I would recommend staying here.
I have nothing bad to say about Anita, as a host she was attentive, reliable and such a kind person. As for her apartment it is the PERFECT location. The beach is a few steps away, it has a huge deck that goes around the house overlooking trees where we saw MANY monkeys that crossed right on our property. We stayed for around 8 days and just loved everything manuel had to offer. There are alot of day activities that include transportation too and from the house so no need for a car and everything else is walking distance. We did various day activities, i really recommend the "rainmaker tour" for the more adventurous type. One day we did take the bus into Quepos, is was less then $1 and comes every 15-20 minutes across the street from the apartment. There is a surf place right next door that sells bottle drinks and icecream. Manuel has a small supermarket down the street in the town by the park entrance which was about a 7 min walk (hardly felt like that as walking down the beach was so beautiful). Here you can get fruit chicken eggs milk etc but it is cheaper is Quepos. We felt 100% safe and plan to return as the location was just so perfect. Thank you so much for sharing your home Anita it was such a pleasure!
Anita was gastvrij en meedenkend. Wij verbleven 1 nacht in la buena vista.
Staying at casa buena vista was a blast. Manuel Antonio is awesome. The house has a ton of shops and restaurants in walking distance. Monkeys are swinging through the trees and are really friendly. Anita was very helpful with her immense knowledge of the area. There is a wonderful beach entrance in the back of the property. Great spot to stay in Manuel Antonio
Anita's place was exactly what we were looking for and more. A two minute walk to the most beautiful beach in Costa Rica, capuchin monkeys visited the trees surrounding the deck (and the deck itself) several times a day. There's a bus stop right in front of the building, which we found very convenient when venturing to Quepos. The village of Manuel Antonio was an easy walk (road OR beach). Anita was very receptive, and easy to get ahold of. She dropped in daily. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting our neighbors in the adjacent apartment, and our apartment-mates, while we were there. Fellow travelers with lots of stories to share made the evenings on the deck thoroughly enjoyable, with the background sounds of the Pacific and the geckos.

I discover Manuel Antonio 38 years ago after graduating the University of California in Berkeley. Don Melton and myself first did a research project in the National Park and adjoining beaches and decided to make Punta Quepos our home. Don was the local historian and gave educational talks for many groups including National Geografic. We were among the founders of the first Chamber of Tourism in Manue Antonio, founders of ASCONA (Quepos first conservation organization), and have continued to be active in civic and conservations groups to date. I am currently working with a group to establish an animal shelter here in our area. (website hidden) We worked for many years on the problem of drownings (see page 7). I ran my gift shop LA BUENA NOTA for many years and because of my extensive knowledge of Costa Rica, I can answer most questions about our area and some advice about other tourist destinations in Costa Rica.
