About this listing

Loft living in the heart of hip Williamsburg. Relax in a private room of a spacious 2-BR loft, shared with a long-time veteran of the neighborhood who is happy to offer directions and suggestions. Close to subway, 5 minutes to Manhattan, great area.

The space

Settle into your own private room and work space in a spacious and stylish loft on one of the best blocks in the Burg. Ideal location - just a 3-minute walk from the Bedford stop on the L train, which will get you to Union Square in Manhattan in 5 minutes. You can also catch the East River Ferry from the nearby North 6th Pier.

On North 9th St., you are in the center of it all but still on a quiet, tree-lined block. The high street of Bedford Avenue is two short blocks away, and one block in the other direction is gorgeous East River State Park. You’ll be perfectly positioned to take in the neighborhood’s countless cool bars, restaurants, boutiques and events.

As for the space, the loft is on the 3rd floor of a former factory building. In all it is approximately 1,100 square feet (102M sq.), with 12-foot (3.6M) ceilings throughout, a huge common living room space with Manhattan and Brooklyn views, and a massive roof deck with sweeping views of the East River and Manhattan skyline.

The bedroom is about 11’x12’ (12M+) with a 12’ ceiling, a sliding barn-door, queen size bed, and a wall of shelving, closet space and hooks for all your belongings. It is freshly painted and freshly furnished with everything you’ll need including European plug adapters and a hairdryer. It is one of two bedrooms in the space (not a multi-roommate flophouse situation.)

In addition to the room, you will also have use of a large steel desk and file cabinet in the shared office area, a good place from which to work or catch up on emails.

There are two washers and two dryers at the end of the hall which are FREE, so you won’t have to haul your clothes to a laundromat.

There is a large freight elevator right outside the apartment, so no matter how much luggage you have getting it into the apartment will be a breeze.

The open kitchen is fully functional and I have all of the basics if you should feel like cooking for yourself. I also keep coffee, espresso, tea and breakfast supplies on hand that you can help yourself to - granola bars, fruit, cereal, oatmeal, etc.

As a host I am easy-going, fun to be around, and out a lot of the time. I work during the day and go out most evenings. I can be as engaged or distant as you need me to be. I can take you out for drinks or send you off on your own.

Any other questions? Ask me!!

In short, here’s what you’ll get:
•Your own well-appointed room with fresh linens and towels
•Your own desk in common office area
•Huge roof deck with panoramic skyline & river views (open in warmer months only)
•FREE laundry down the hall
•Freight elevator for your luggage
•AppleTV with Streaming Netflix, Hulu, HBOGo and Amazon Prime Video
•Tons of closet space and storage
•12-foot ceilings
•Huge, comfortable and well-furnished living room space with a dining table
•Coffee (French press and espresso) & Tea
•Air conditioning
•Hair dryer
•A charming and accommodating host!

Guest access

Make yourself comfortable! Lounge in the spacious living room to read or watch TV. Help yourself to complimentary coffee and tea in the mornings, or cook yourself a gourmet dinner in in the fully equipped kitchen.

Staying at Anne's house has been a great experience!! Anne has been a wonderful person who make me feel like in my own house. It is in the most beautiful area of Williamsburg (one of the coolest areas of NY), with beautiful shops, restaurants and bars. The space is very beautiful, very clean and with a lot of personality. For those of us coming from Europe is a very New York apartment with a rooftop in the building with a breathtaking view. The location is perfect. In a very short time you get to the center of Manhattan. The metro very close and the connection is very easy. I really could not have been better off in NY. Thank you very much Anne, for your kindness and for your time. I hope to come back soon!

Anne is a fantastic host. Really I couldn't ask for more. She is extremely well organized and helpful. Plus the building and neighbourhood are great. If you are willing to try a stay in a converted building this is an excellent place to consider, especially for the price point. Thanks, Anne.

My friend and I stayed at Anne's place for 6 nights whilst exploring NYC. The apartment was very clean and tidy, with lots of storage space, a large bed (king size by UK standards) and lots of clean towels/linen for us to use. The bedroom itself was not huge (although still generous by manhattan standards) but the sitting room area is enormous and has a desk, sofas and dining area which we were able to use at all times. Williamsburg is a lovely area with lots of bars/restaurants/cafes - the Smorgasbord food market 1 block from the apartment was a highlight, made even better by its location in the East River State Park with great views of the manhattan skyline. It was really easy to travel into manhattan as the subway is only 5mins walk away and is 1 stop from manhattan. It is also 24hrs a day so we had no problem getting back in the evening or leaving in the early hours for our return flight. Overall we had a fantastic trip and Anne's apartment was a great base for us - we would definitely visit again! Thanks a lot Anne! Rachael and Katie
