Designers Haven: II - whole apt!!!

Apartment - Entire home/apt · Mark St, Boston, MA 02130, United States

The Space

Ive owned this great condo for 5+ years now...and love every day I spend here. You will too! There is a fabulous bohemian vibe to the space with an open layout main area. Roche bobois mahjong sofa (great for lounging around on over morning coffee ....or drinking wine and watching a movie and a noguchi coffee table as well as a few other fun pieces and great antiques...and lots and lots of really lovely plants!

youll feel right at home with a newly renovated bathroom w/rainshower head and a washer and dryer in the unit in case you need a quick load of laundry done. The kitchen is also newly renovated and is all stainless w/great fossilized granite counters...and I have plenty of cooking supplies if youd like to whip yourself up a meal.

If you come during the warmer months you can take advantage of a treehouse feel off the back deck....or privacy on the gigantic roofdeck w/a chimnea to make a fun fire. or practice your hula hooping skills...and enjoy the gorgeous sunsets.

Close to Longwood Medical center for long term stays. Great option for week long conferences.

The apartment is a 12 min walk from both the Stonybrook and Jackson sq T stops on the boston metro orange line. And an 8 min walk from the last stop on the green line (E) Heath st stop. Its also a few minute walk from a few nice restaurants...lounges and coffee shops....as well as a couple local grocers if you want to cook your own meals.
I am on a dead end st in a part of town that does NOT require permitted street parking...so if you are driving into town you can easily park in the area for free!

Fenway park is a 2mile walk... or 25mins on public transportation. The Jamaica Pond (which has sail boats and kayaks and paddleboats rentable seasonally) and a running path is just a 5min walk ....and where I go for my morning runs with everyone else in town. Jamaica Plain is a very desirable section of Boston that is blossoming with tons of tiny great restaurants and gorgeous old Victorians. Its like being in a neighborhood within the city.

There are two private bedrooms. The 'Green Room' and the 'Gray Room' which has a tempurpedic foam mattress. Both rooms have Elfa closets for you to store your belongings...and bottom up top down window coverings for privacy and light. Both have Queen beds.

There is also an inflatible queen mattress that can be used in the living room 'nook' for additional guests as well as the sofa....the cushions can be spread to tile the floor to create a dramatic king size sleeping area good for another 1-2 guests. You could feasibly host a group of 7 in my apartment comfortably (except for the inevitable bathroom line - lol*) And there are more than enough blankets and towels for all.

I have two very sweet cats...Turtle(calico) and Froggy (white persian mix)......they are extremly affectionate and will snuggle up with you at night if you want them to!

The price includes a glorious continental style breakfast with an assortment of fruit and possibly fresh baked scones and snacks for your breakfast/stay. as well as hard boiled eggs, yogurt and granola and assorted nuts. I love to cook and am extremly open to any special requests. All other food you will have to arrange for yourself. (please note for stays over 2 days I will not be doing a daily food offering...but will supply foods that will last for the first 2 days and then you will be on your own to explore the delicious local restaurants)

There is wireless internet available in the apartment and basic cable with a nice flatscreen TV...as well as a selection of DVD's and a mini dvi port hookup for your laptop to the TV directly. I also have an Ipod doc w/speakers in the kitchen and a speaker system in the living room.

Please dont hesitate to ask any quesitons!!!! I will gladly try to accomadate.

**Please be aware that my apartment is on the 3rd floor of the building and is a walk up. This is how I am able to have a private roofdeck...but it does mean that there are two flights of stairs to walk up**

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Becky's place! It was nice and tidy, and also very unique. I wish we were able to spend more time there. It's located in the very fun neighborhood of Jamaica Plain. Highly recommended!

  • Becky is awesome! She was super laid-back and very trusting, which I appreciated (i.e. "i promise to clean up", and she was cool with that). She responded to all of my messages promptly and kept in touch. She even met with me before I rented the place to show me around.

The apartment is awesome and made me want to move to JP! :-)

  • Beautiful apt, lovely cats and considerate hosts!!! We stayed for four nights and had a really good time. Subway stations are fifteen to twenty minutes' walk away. There is a whole foods market around the corner. Easy to order a cab. I will definitely recommend this to my friends!!

  • A haven indeed! Becky's apartment was a great homebase for our time in Boston. In addition to the convenient location, cozy accommodations (highlighted by the great beds, outstanding shower, and rockin' kitchen), and snuggly cats, Designers Haven benefits from a communicative and friendly host.

  • Becky is definitely a most interesting person. Her two bedroom condo is comfortable on the 3rd floor. Air conditioning was appreciated, she has a rooftop balcony & another one off the kitchen. It is in a multicultural neighborhood we felt adeq'ly safe in. We enjoyed a feast at a cuban restaurant around the corner called Miami which was not expensive & she left all kinds of other listings for us from which to choose. She has two cats who are very well behaved. It is a lovely place w/beautiful kitchen & bathroom spaces & ample bedrooms for 4(two couples), a living room which provided community space for us to eat & visit & quaintly & artfully appointed with her many interests. We recommend her for future stays & we would consider coming back when next in JP. (Thanks Becky!)

  • My friends and I all love your apt! A comfortable place with a wonderful backyard. The decoration in this apartment is also very interesting... we met many surprise there~ and which surprised us mostly is-fresh food in the kitchen! Thanks a lot for the fruits and eggs and milk. You are so thoughtful...And I have to say sorry for our stupid mistake of locking ourselves out of the apartment…we must have bothered you a lot…

  • Becky was a great host! When we arrived, she had fruits, cereal, eggs, jam, bread, oatmeal, raisins, etc., so we could have supplies for breakfast. My wife, my kids and I loved the place, the cats, as well as the quiet, clean, and warm environment. Also it was located in a very nice neighborhood, with access to public transportation, nice restaurants, and grocery stores. We are happy to recommend this place. We are planning to come back!

  • We were first time Airbnb users and just got back from our trip to Boston. Although we didn't meet Becky, she was very helpful and prompt in answering questions prior to our trip. We were a group of six and had plenty of room to sleep. The apartment is only a short walk to the green subway line which brings you right into downtown. The roof top deck is awesome, there is parking on the street and Fenway is only two miles away. All in all, we had a blast and would definitely use Airbnb again.

About
I am an apparel designer and an artist. just over 33....work at a local sneaker company designing incredible running sportswear and plotting my escape to a nomadic gypsy lifestyle on the road with my boyfriend Len who is an avid long distance cyclist (like really long distances....like 300miles!!!!). We live together in domestic harmony up in the treetops of Bostons best neighborhood (my opinion ;) Love my house...love my cats...love jamaica plain. You can find me most nights making dinner with friends....drinking a beer around the neighborhood...going for a run around the pond.... doing yoga.... making something in my home studio...or plotting home improvement projects (really want a fireplace in the apartment!) I travel quite a bit for work and for fun....so you may not catch me in Boston on your stay....but if you do Ill gladly invite you out to any events/happenings that I know of going on. I do this because I love it... not for the money....and so you can be certain that If you are my guest I will treat you well. I only open my home to folks that I am truly excited to host. Ive lived in boston since 2001 so I know the city truly well and have a lot of experience I can share with you to make your visit fun...and interesting. I LOVE food....so you can bet that my restaurant recommendations may be your new favs.....boston is a total foodie city! Cant wait to meet you!
