Sauk Mountain Cottage is tucked just off Highway 20 on four park-like acres. Fronted by a charming covered porch, the cottage has a queen-size bed, full kitchen, and bathroom. It's the perfect place to spend one night as you're passing through the Skagit Valley or to use as your base camp for several days while you explore the mountains and the river in this gorgeous area.

The space
The cottage is perched on a little rise across the driveway from our main house, with a backdrop of evergreen trees. The covered front porch has two lawn chairs and a view all the way out to green foothills that often see snow in the winter. It's the perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee.

Inside the cottage, a small table and two chairs look out on the porch and garden. A gas fireplace adds ambiance for chilly evenings. The mantle is stocked with books; there are also decks of cards and a few board games (there is no WiFi or TV--consider it a gift to yourself to unplug for a night or two!). The queen-sized bed has an organic latex mattress. Before you call it a night, be sure to step out onto the back porch and look up, on a clear night, to see countless stars.

In the kitchen, you'll find a full fridge, stove, microwave (which is also a convection oven), sink, toaster, coffee maker, and basic cooking utensils. The bathroom has a walk-in shower, pedestal sink, mirror, and toilet.

Guest access
The cottage, covered porch, and back porch are yours to use and enjoy.

Other things to note
THERE IS NO WIFI OR TV at the cottage; however, most major cell phone networks get phone and data coverage here. We offer books and games instead. Consider it a gift to yourself to unplug for a night or two!

The cottage is limited to two adult guests (no pets). However, if you have young children and can provide floor or crib sleeping arrangements, there is room for two small children only. Please let us know in your reservation request if there are children with you.

We have a border collie who is very friendly and excitable. We try to keep her from interacting with guests in order to respect our guests' personal space and especially those who might not like dogs. We do not allow our dog into the guest cottage at any time, so it is an entirely pet-free space if you are concerned about allergies.

We have pigs and chickens. You are welcome to watch them from outside the pasture fence along the driveway; it is electrified.
