Antwerp has never been the best experience for us without Annie's hospitality. We were overwhelmed by her place which is welcoming. We stayed particularly longer indoors than outdoors at the city. The main factor of why we love Annie is of her helpfulness. We were not exactly sure on how to get about to a coach operator 'Megabus` stop in Antwerp. She offered of her initiative to bring us to the bus stop which is secluded from the central, at Berchum. We were lost for almost half an hour but she never gave up trying to find out from others, making sure we dont miss the bus. We feel that this trip is too short for us as we feel that Annie is personable and has treated us more than a host. Would definitely revisit Annie if opportunity arises. Thank you so much! We love you
Annemie was a great host. Her communication prior to our arrival was excellent with super clear instructions on how to reach her house. Nestled in a side street in the busiest part of town meant it was very quiet and peaceful. The roses in the garden were beautiful too. The house was comfortable and Annemie made us feel right at home. We were even lucky enough to taste her homemade elderflower drink! The chats and laughs made for a great stay.
The room itself was spacious and had its own sink too. We were given a fan too as it was just too hot - thank you!
Location is close to the main station and is within walking distance of everything you would want to see in Antwerp. You can also take the trams if you want.
All in all, a pleasant stay. Highly recommended :)
Encore merci Annemie!
Annemie greeted me warmly and made me feel truly welcome thoughout my stay. Her home is absolutely wonderful! The guest bedroom is spacious and airy with many windows opening onto the garden. There's ample room for hanging clothes and the bedroom even has it's own sink. (The toilet and separate bathroom you share with Annemie, but they were always available when I wanted to use them.)
Annemie is very thoughtful in the arrangements she makes so her guest will feel comfortable and welcome. I was welcome to use the living room and garden, which is a beautiful, rose-filled "secret garden" in urban Antwerp. She even put out a hammock one warm afternoon in case I wanted to use it. You get your own shelf in a cabinet in the kitchen and a shelf in the refrigerator exclusively for your use, and she supplies coffee, tea, and some other odds and ends. The house is located a true 7-10 minute walk to the train station (Antwerp Centraal) and just another 5 minutes or so to the historic center. Annemie herself is delightful and someone whom I was happy to get to meet. The moment I can get back to Antwerp I'll be checking with Annemie to see if I can stay with her again!
