Angie and her home have great energy! Staying with her was one of the highlights to our trip. The house is clean, comfortable and quiet and the location was great. Thank you so much, Angie!! Courtney and Lisa
So much more than just a good deal! Angie's Makawao retreat is clean, comfortable, and within walking distance of some of Maui's best "upcountry" restaurants and shops. We loved being able to explore the island all day and come "home" in the evenings to relax and unwind in such a great location. Most of all, Angie is an exceptional host and made us feel extremely welcome during our stay. She was 100% accessible and maintained fantastic communication with us from well before we arrived. I would recommend staying here to anyone who wants to get to know Maui on a more warmly personal level and feel connected to the communities that call this part of paradise home. Angie, mahalo nui loa!!
We stayed for 6 days with Angelika in Makawao. In our view, Makawao is a great location to stay in in Maui - particularly for Haleakela and the road to Hana. Coming in either from the South or the West to see the sunrise or to do the drive to Hana likely means that you are going to be either up at 3 in the morning or reaching back pretty late - whereas Makawao helps you cut that distance effectively.
Coming to the house itself, it was perfect for us - we had the entire house to ourselves - and it was in a nice quiet neighborhood. While the house itself was slightly bare, it was comfortable and perfectly suited for the purpose.
Angie was a good guide to Maui in general and gace us a good overview when we landed - and was generally accessible on phone / email.
All in all, a good experience
We had an amazing time at Angie's, we felt right at home. It's a quiet, relaxing and peaceful place to be and we loved the town. Angie is so welcoming and helpful, answering all of our many many questions!! She gave us nice tips on what to do on the island. We had a great time doing yoga with her in the living room, good way to start our day! And meeting her mom was really nice lovely lady with a lot of knowledge and spirituality.
Our stay at Angie's made our trip in Maui more enjoyable!
Angelika Hofmann is a great host. She is considerate, genuine, and amicable. She is a great resource for local activities, restaurants, and shopping centers. The house is very clean, eco-friendly, and has a warm and comfortable feel to it. I highly recommend a fortnight at Angelika Hofmann's abode!
Very close to charming Makawao, wonderful food garden, and great grooy ambience. A great upcountry stay on Maui! Plus Annika is wonderful.
