The space
Great location in Funchal city center, just 400 meters walk down the hill to the restaurants and seaside. Nicely decorated 1 bedroom apartment in a tropical house with banana trees by the sea in the old town of Funchal (capital city of Madeira). Swimming pool is shared with only 1 other apartment but each has its own private sunbathing area and lots of outdoor and indoor space.

SEAVIEW TERRACE: Large terrace facing funchal port with stunning sea views you can watch the ships arrive in the harbour. Swimming pool surrounded by tropical plants and banana trees by the sea. Use the garden herbs to make salads & local dishes. Pool is shared with one other apartment.

BEDROOM- Bedroom with 2 beds French windows and lots of light and space. Wardrobe & drawers. Air conditioning /heating.

KITCHEN- Fully equipped new kitchen with fridge/freezer, 4 hobs, oven, Dishwasher, microwave, coffee machine, kettle, and all cutlery/plates/pans etc needed for a short or long stay. Outside coal Weber barbecue to cook on all year.

LIVING ROOM- Full length windows on all the living room - fills the room with natural light (blinds on all windows). Fast internet, TV with lots of international channels (English, German, French etc). Comfortable sofa and stylish decoration. Air conditioning/heating.

BATHROOM- NEW Bathroom with modern walk in shower. Amenities and towels provided.

INTERNET- Free and fast, throughout the house.

OUTSIDE- Terrace with dining area, sun chairs & outside Sofa. Great seaviews of Funchal harbour. Weber barbecue to cook your catch from the market down the road.

SWIMMING POOL- The pool is only shared with one other apartment (Painters Cottage above) and it is open all year. With banana trees and a herb garden its the perfect oasis in the heart of the old town of Funchal.
Pool is 7.5m x 3,5 m and is 140 deep (heated naturally by the sun).

PARKING- Available outside on the street free of charge.

LOCATION: Walk to all the main attractions and old town restaurants, cafes and beach. Nearby bus stop for longer trips around the island or for mountain walks and garden visits.

We give local tips and try to make your holiday special and authentic. The house was fully restored and is kept in shape by local artisans who repair the iron doors, wooden shutters and furniture which is handmade on the island. Artwork is also by local artists.

Pool Cottage includes the use of a sunny swimming pool and tropical garden (open all year and shared only with Painters Cottage that sleeps 2 guests). Pool Cottage is an independent apartment with weber barbecue and dining area and sunchairs, sofa outside to relax and enjoy hot weather. Filled with natural light and lots of charm.

Other things to note
The pool is only shared with Painters Cottage, and the washing machine on the premises is shared (private clothes hanging rack for Pool Cottage). Private iron and ironing board.

The swimming pool is cleaned once a week (normally on a Monday) so if you see someone cleaning the pool thats him. Once or twice a month the gardeners also pass by to give the tropical garden some love and care.
