The Space

I am an eccentric artist so my apartment reflects that. If what you seek are clean and sterile Ikea lines, this ain't it. What you will find is a cozy welcoming home influenced by my life growing up summering in an Adirondack Great Camp.
There are large windows, high ceilings and hardwood floors. The bathroom has a tub for relaxing baths and an awesome and powerful shower head.
Church Street, UVM and Champlain College are all short walks, as is the lake front.
You are welcome to relax and hang out on my back deck and look at the trees, the Adirondack Mountains and Lake Champlain, all in the distance.
The bedroom is small and cozy. You will snooze on a double mattress and look out the window into the garden and hear the tress whisper and the birds chirp!
There is parking on my street.

Guest Access

Guests have access to their cozy bedroom with a double mattress, the living room, sharedbathroom, and back deck.
I'm more than happy to make room in the fridge for delicious Vermont cheese and Heady Topper! And you may check in with me about using the kitchen.
I provide clean sheets, towels and fabulous hospitality. You bring you're own soap and other toiletries, as I do not supply them. The full bathroom with tub/shower is shared with me.
Please note that check in time is no earlier than 2 pm and check out time is by 11 am. I will consider exceptions, if you ask!

Interaction with Guests

The bedroom you will be staying in is right off of the living room and kitchen. I work freelance, so you may see me in the morning having coffee and sitting at my computer. However, I generally won't engage with you unless you feel like chatting. I like for guests to feel welcomed by my hospitality, but not overwhelmed by it.
I am happy to give you tips and info about Burlington and the surrounding areas, or just leave you to go about your business.
The place isn't huge, but I think that you will find it to be a nice place to relax when you are not out on the town, which is less than a 10 minute walk.

The Neighborhood

This is the Hill District nearby to UVM and Champlain Colleges. As the students return to school, you will feel their vibrant presence. Old homes and the Champlain College Campus are featured on this part of the street. Plenty of parking is available, usually right across the street, or nearby on Maple street.

Getting Around

A short walk or drive to downtown and the lakefront. A bus to the waterfront passes right by the front of the house. Bicycle rentals are available down the hill next to the lake and the bike path.

Other Things to Note

I am around the house, when I'm not working various free-lance jobs, so don't expect complete privacy. I won't be in your face, but you will encounter me and my cat. We both go in and out as we please.
Me and my home are an eclectic expression of a life well lived. If you like clean lines and Ikea furniture, this isn't the place for you. However, if you enjoy being in a place full of light, life and a few well-curated vintage items, this is your cozy spot for a respite during your stay in Beautiful Burlington, Vermont.
I live a "counter culture" very and interesting and creative life.
I encourage those with the same zest for variety and adventure to come and stay with me.
You will be warmly welcomed into a cozy, beautiful and delightful home.

House Rules

When you arrive please call or text me at my number. Don't knock on the front door of my building as that is not where I live and I'd rather my neighbors don't feel bothered by my having guests.
No smoking in the house, but you may stare at the beautiful view and hang out on the back porch and puff.
Take you shoes off before entering during the messy winter months, please.
I ask that my guests don't check in before 2 pm and are out by 11 am. But I am always open to exceptions if asked. I often have to prep for new guests and this gives my plenty of time. Thanks!
