We live on one acre in the middle of Amish country. It is quiet and scenic. In our town there are several small cafes and restaurants and in its heart is Bucknell University (approx. 15 min from us). There are antique shops a plenty and we're only 45 minutes from Penn's Creek caves amongst other wonderful outdoor activities.
The rooms available are on our second floor. Both rooms have a queen sized bed. If you have small children we have a pack-n-play. The rooms are separate but share a half bath. The shower is on the first floor. Access and usage of the kitchen is promoted! Depending on the time of year, great sledding hills are all around or raspberry picking and kayaking are all the rage. If you're a runner or biker we have FABUlous hills out here. I run and love the workout. There is a wonderful 2 mile hike through the hills only a 5 minute drive away. There are kayak rentals in town, too.
I can make breakfast for $7 per person if you're interested
We have Wi-Fi.
We have no pets
Full access to laundry
10 minute drive into town (grocery store, Wal-Mart, restaurants...)
We love hosting and have a happy home with a family of four.
If the season is right, you're more than welcome to our garden. We are always growing something! Zucchini, garlic, raspberries, butter lettuce, tomatoes, peppers, sorrel, just let me know!
What a wonderful experience! The Simmons-Kelbatyrov family welcomed me and my son into their home and into their family. They were personable, offered to feed me, gave great recommendations for places to visit and eat in the area! Over all an excellent experience and I hope to stay with them again the next time I visit central PA.
Misha, David, and their children graciously welcomed me into their home with only an hour's notice and even warmed up leftovers from dinner! They instantly made me feel like family yet allowed for my quiet time in the private upstairs bedroom and bathroom. I feel like I've made friends for life and am grateful to have met them!!
Misha and David could not have been warmer or more accommodating! We contacted them just a few hours before we were hoping to stay (last minute change in plans) and heard back from Misha almost immediately. They and their home are so lovely; we had a clean and cozy bedroom with beautiful morning sunlight and a rooster to serenade us. Unfortunately it had to be a short stay (we were on our way to a wedding) but we are so eager to return for a longer stay!!!
Oh man, Misha and her family were SO great! The space was perfect, clean, and she and the family were so accommodating to my wife and I! We were on our honeymooon and actually spent our last night hanging out with them cause we really wanted to get to know her kids some before we left. It was a wonderful time and we are so glad to have it in our bank of memories! :-)
Thanks again so much Misha!
Misha (and her husband, David) have a real gift for making guests feel welcome.
Misha's place is in lush Amish farm country, an easy 5 or 6 miles from Lewisburg PA, in the countryside. A GPS in the car will help a visitor navigate the back roads, especially at night. The room is private, has a fine comfortable bed, and sleeping there is peaceful and deep. There's a little half-bath that goes with. The full bathroom is downstairs and is easily shared with the family (Misha and David have their own bath). The kitchen is well-stocked, and Misha is willing to share it with her guests. She and David are a smart, gentle, twenty-first century couple - instinctively thoughtful and conscientious hosts. The kids are delightful, and don't worry, they don't invade your space, or your quiet.
The house is home for four lovely people who are willing to share it with you: bring your best self.
Misha was so incredibly nice and inviting. She went out of her way to make us feel comfortable. I highly recommend staying here!
We were looking for some place where we could just relax, enjoy a cup of coffee and where our kids we have a space to play. It had appeared probably to be the best choise of the passing year to go to Misha's house. We were able to enjoy the wonderful homely atmosphere full of love for which we are grateful and looking for to returning, especially our doughter:)
Fantastic hosts, very responsive and genuinely really nice folks. Easy to communicate with and very accommodating. Great location, not that far from Lewisburg, with beautiful surrounding countryside. All pictures and descriptions are accurate and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!
very friendly, helpful, patient with my inability to follow (website hidden) Maps; Great glimpse into rural Pennsylvania life
We had a great time staying with Misha and David and family. We traveled there to visit friends that live in Lewisburg. We really enjoyed having the two bedrooms, so our family of four plus one grandmother had room to spread out a little. Our children loved the toys that were available to play with and the outdoor area which included a playground and chickens to look at. It was really quiet which helped our kids to get a good night sleep every night we were there. Overall we had a great experience and recommend it to anyone, but especially families with small children.
