Interaction with Guests
My inspiration for our BnB harks back to the B&Bs of old....when you stayed with the family, in their home. Here you can have the best of both worlds....your own space to sleep and eat or our dining room table for meals and company !
Our house is right beside the apt, so we are close by for all your needs or any information that you might require. If you need the internet....some sugar.....whatever it is, we will endeavour to help.
If you would like to joins us for breakfast ( €10pp) or dinner (€15pp ) just let us know and we will set some extra places for whatever is in the pot !
Mt Temple is a beautiful little well kept village with a bar, restaurant, shop, church, an impressive 18 hole golf course & a driving range. (We have golf sticks, in all sizes if needed) Our home is 10min walk to all of these.
5 mins drive away, there is a lovely 30min walk along the bog and through the woods where i bring my dogs everyday.
Athlone is a picturesque town on the banks of the River Shannon .. Athlone castle is 900yrs old and has a wonderful position on the river in the centre of town. There is a great interactive museum which is definitly worth a visit, as is the free art Gallery. Luan Gallery opened up in 2013 overlooking the river and showcases some great Irish and local art.
The charming left bank area has some great restaurant ( many of which we can recommend) and pubs with lots of live traditional Irish music and Ireland's oldest bar, Seans.
Our home is located 5km off the Dublin\Galway M6 motorway....
We are 1.30 mins to Dublin airport and 1 hour to Galway.
There is no public transport to our village, but the bus from Dublin and the airport stops in Moate and Athlone. If you required a pickup, just let us know.
Ideally your own car is the most conveinent.
The train also stops in Athlone.
