Sure it's convenient, just one stop away from Manhattan on the L or JMZ trains. Of course, it's right off of Bedford Ave., surrounded by trendy restaurants, shops and bars, and fun creative people, but more importantly this apartment is comfortable and adorable. It's an antidote to the mean city streets.
The whole apartment is full of sunlight! The 1 bedroom is huge and has four windows. The room itself is about 22 X 14. It has a double bed, an antique rocking chair, and two desks and a computer with internet. The living room is smaller but cute and has a sofa/bed, a TV with dvd player. This area opens up into the eat in kitchen with windows. And finally- the bathroom is also massive with a claw foot tub and art deco vanity and of course, lots more sunlight.
No smoking ever. But there is a fire escape and the roof access is right outside and has a great view of the entire Manhattan skyline and Williamsburg Bridge.
This is a really fun and friendly neighborhood. I love living here and friends love to come and visit. The whole apartment has great energy and character.

My wife and I just returned from three weeks in New York and we miss it already. Carolyn was an amazing host - sweet and lovable as can be.
The apartment: WOW! A shining pearl in the heart of Williamsburg. The place is amazingly cosy. Every time we returned to the apartment it put a smile on our faces - It felt like coming home yet in an other city. Carolyn has indeed managed to put a lot of heart into the place. The apartment in it self is value for money and on top of this there is a private roof terrace where we spend mornings enjoying our breakfast in the sun and evenings looking over the Manhattan skyline and the beautiful Williamsburg Bridge as the lights from the J train made it's way through the darkness. Sitting on that roof you can't but lean back and let the beauty of New York overwhelm you.
The location: Superb! Carolyn's place is located perfectly. You can walk to the JMZ train in less than five minutes and to the L train in about seven. Both one stop from Manhattan. If you prefer to travel on the East River instead the ferry will take you to on a beautiful trip both up- and downtown on the Brooklyn side as well as both up- and downtown on the Manhattan side. It is not without reason that the neighborhood of Williamsburg has grown in popularity to become the trendiest area in Brooklyn. There is a leaned back atmosphere and A TON of great restaurants, bars and stores and Carolyn's apartment has got the best location possible in all off Williamsburg. With new trendy areas like Dumbo, Bushwick and Greenpoint popping up all around Brooklyn, Williamsburg feels like the epicenter and is located right in the middle of it all. Long story short: If you want a lovable host, a cosy apartment with a roof terrace and the perfect location, pick Carolyn's place. You won't regret it!
Carolyn was an amazing host from the beginning. She helped us with everything. Her place was very cute and very spacious. It is really well located, it was so easy to get everywhere. We had a great time in the city!
Carolyn was truly an extraordinary host -- she streamlined the booking process after our previous Airbnb encounter left us looking for last-minute lodging.
Her top-floor apartment is nestled in the heart of Williamsburg, a 5 minute walk away from small boutique clothing stores, restaurants and coffee shops, and a short walk away from the nearby Marcy Ave subway stop.
The apartment itself is wonderfully cosy, and accommodated the three of us with ease. Will gladly stay again when I'm next in New York.
My nephew and I stayed at Carolyn's for a week in late October 2013. The flat is really well located south of Bedford Ave in Williamsburg. So it is really no problem to go out shopping, eating, swimming, watching movies or having a drink at a bar. The next subways (M, J, Z and the L-Line) are 5-10 minutes by feet so it is also convenient to get to Manhatten.
The place is pretty spacious and ok for a couple or two people wishing to sleep in separate beds, however while the king size bed is pretty big, the other bed is rather narrow and firm. Also the place is pretty much packed with personal things on shelfs and boards, mostly covered with blankets as well as equipped with left-overs from former travelers, both in the bathroom and the fridge. However, Carolyn manages to keep the place clean so really no complaints.
Due to the Manhatten bridge, there is a constant noise of cars and trains at an ok level; you'll get used to it. Finally as the place is below the roof I assume it gets pretty hot in summer and rather cold in winter. We had to use the heating also the weather was very good for October.
I stayed in NYC for 3 weeks so I really needed a place that felt like home and Carolyn´s place certainly did! Location is perfect, restaurants, bars, shops, subways.. all you need is near. The apartment is also very adorable! I highly recommend this place.
Myself and my friend rented Carolyns apartment for a long weekend in NY. It is brilliant, i couldn't recommend it more. Great location in Williamsburg, close to lots of great shops/restaurants. Carolyn was so helpful and accommodating, I will definitely stay here on future trips to NY!
This apartment is really nice, the location is great since it's close to en trains and Bedford Ave. is just around the corner. We had a great stay and Carolyn gave us a lot of tips and was very helpful :)
Great apartment in a fantastic location. Carolyn is a lovely host, very friendly and happy to talk about places to go in the neighbourhood. I would recommend this apartment to anyone. Being earplugs to sleep though as it can be quite noisy but that is part of the New York experience.
Carolyn's apartment is exactly the Aladdin's cave I was looking for in Williamsburg and the added bonus is that Carolyn is also a wonderful host! I felt immediately at home in the apartment, which feels full of stories and quirky finds. It is also brilliantly located for exploring Brooklyn and getting into downtown Manhattan. It was a total pleasure to be able to borrow Carolyn's space, I hope to be back again very soon :)
Great little apartment in a fantastic location williamsburg! The place was larger then we expected and was a great location to the Macey Avenue subway stop. Nice host Carolyn, who met us and showed us around the place. Was kind enough to contact us during the week to see if we needed an extra fan if it was too hot (the weather was extremely hot). Overall a great introduction to New York and a cool neighbourhood. There wasn't an elevator in the building but it was only up 3 flights of stairs which was no problem. Would definitely stay here again!
