The Blue Rooster is a beautifully decorated folk house on a quiet street within the Cooperative Community of New West Jackson. The home is filled with natural light making for a cozy stay.
This home is one of several on the street that have been remodeled by residents as a self-help solution to blight and abandonment. CCNWJ manages all but one house on the block. We are working on opening a bookstore and ice cream bar in one of the houses, and also run the Mulberry Tree Guesthouse on airbnb.

I'm the Lead Organizer and Creative Director of the Cooperative Community of New West Jackson, a resident owned neighborhood development model, which runs the Mulberry Tree, Blue Rooster and the Hive Guesthouses along with other once dilapidated properties in the neighborhood that are now creatively transformed to build micro-economic businesses owned and managed by our community. We love it here!
