Interaction with Guests
I happy to help guests with local information about where to eat and local attractions if needed. We are a casual friendly family - me, my daughter who is studying locally and our 2 dogs.
This is a great neighbourhood. It is close to everything Geelong has to offer and we have the station across the road (50 minutes to Melbourne on the hour) and parks, a 50 metre outdoor swimming pool around the corner and you can walk to Deakin Waterfront Campus or take a free bus to Waurn Ponds Campus. The Bay is a short walk as are Geelong's main shops. If you feel like a walk or jog, the river track is just a short jog away and there are long or short runs on a dedicated bike and running track.
Public transport is readily available.
Other Things to Note
The main thing to note is that we have dogs. Pippa will bark ferociously as she is a new mum with her litter of puppies. She is harmless and the puppies are adorable.
We expect peace and quiet, no smoking, keeping reasonable hours and of course you must love dogs! No visitors please. Happy to talk about individual requirements.
Very friendly host, The location is fantastic, perfect for the AFL fans as it is right on the doorstep of the home of the Geelong Cats.
Jill has a beautifull home with beautifull dogs! We enjoyed our stay and her company a lot! The room was as described, clean and has a very comfy bed. Thanks again for everything!
From the get go Jill was wonderfully helpful. I was in town for the first time for a uni event and she helped me with information about transport and the town. When I arrived she was very hospitable which continued through the whole stay. We had tea and coffee together and she even bought fresh bread in the morning.
These things may sound generic of a good air bnb host but Jill was so friendly and really made you feel so welcome, it was like staying in a home away from home. Her dogs are beyond cute too which adds that aspect of familiarity being somewhere with animals.
I definitely recommend staying at this listing - good location, great place and amazing host.
We had a truly lovely stay at Jill's home. Comfortable, clean and full of character the house is almost your home away from home...and the bed was possibly the most comfortable we have ever slept in.
We have been to Jill's home just for one night, the home is amazing, the dogs are so cute and Jill knows how to make feel at home her guests! The room is spacious, the bed is so confortable and the bathroom is very nice (the shower is fantastic)! After our stay, we decided to come back there for our return trip! It's very reccomended! Thanks Jill!
Jill welcomed me very warmly and basically it was as if I was catching up with an old friend. Her house is very attractive, warm and comfortable, the dogs are lovely, we slept beautifully and the adjoining bathroom makes it so easy and private. A very pretty cottage garden welcomes people out the front and it's a handy location and quiet.

About the Host, Jill
I am a historian/writer in my 50s-female. I have a daughter Elena who lives at home. I work from home but we have a beach house and I often go there to work as well. I love cooking and good coffee (we have an espresso machine) and books and writing. I am well travelled as well and have lots of local knowledge. We love having people to stay ... provided you are happy to be fairly independent. We are also happy to chat about extras like doing washing, sharing meals and if you are considering a trip on the great ocean road —using our beach house. We have 3 dogs and they love visitors but they can be a bit overwhelming at times!
