About this listing
Centrally located in hot Hayes Valley, short walk to NEMA/TWTR, Lower Haight, Duboce Triangle, Mission/Dolores & Castro. Great public transit options. Fully renovated ground floor studio has eat/sleep/living area & luxe bath. Not a full kitchen.
Welcome to 'Chez Valley' - a large, contemporary studio in the geographic heart of San Francisco. Beautifully remodeled, fully furnished and located on the ground floor of three story classic 1896 Victorian, the approximately 600 square foot space has its own private entrance and a wonderful open layout.
The studio has ample room for two adults and a small child (bring your own travel cot), with an incredibly comfortable king-size bed with designer linens. The over-sized private bathroom features heated floors, his & hers sink, a deep luxurious tub and a separate walk in shower - perfect for unwinding after a day of shopping and sightseeing. We offer plush robes and 4 sets of towels for your comfort and convenience.
The suite does not have a full kitchen, but we do provide a mini-fridge, microwave, Keurig coffeemaker and toaster. You will also find two wine glasses, cereal bowls, dinner plates and basic utensils. Please note, dishes will need washing in the bathroom sinks.
Chez Valley does not include a television, but you should be able to watch your favorite shows on tablets or laptops using the high-speed wireless internet. The suite is also stocked with maps, tour books and local publications to help you plan your daily adventures.
Longer term rentals are welcome.
Guests will have full access to the unit. If needed, there is plentiful storage accessible from the unit.
Interaction with Guests
I live in the middle floor flat and should generally be reachable via phone or text during your stay if you need me. We like to greet guests upon arrival (if requested) and if you are interested, I'm happy to tell you lots of great things to eat and things to see. We can also leave you be if that's your preference.
Hayes Valley has been continuously voted one of the top neighborhoods in San Francisco for its vast array of restaurants and boutiques. The perfect place to live and even better place to visit. There is a small park just a few blocks away in the heart of the neighborhood with a biergarten, the world's most delicious ice cream stand, and a coffee bar.
Ideally located for everything in the city, but also good for commuting south as we're only 2 blocks from the entrance to the 101 freeway.
Just a step beyond Hayes Valley are some of San Francisco’s most bustling and exciting neighborhoods - walk five minutes east to the Civic Center, with the SF Opera, City Hall and several museums; ten minutes west and you’re in the heart of the Castro; and fifteen minutes south to the sunny Mission district, with its famous restaurants, murals, taquerias, and coffee shops.
All Major transit (Muni, BART, Street Cars and Buses) are within a couple blocks from the apartment. Very centrally located and extremely easy to get around. No car needed!
Other Things to Note
You can hear minimal street noise. You may also hear some noise (e.g. walking around) from our apartment (where I live with my husband and our one-year-old son), though we are a shoe free house and generally spend time in the back side of the house which isn't above the unit. However, ear plugs are provided for the light sleepers or sensitive to sound among you :)
No pets, no smoking, only 2 visitors at any one time. Talking, music and visitors until about 10 pm are fine. As stated above, no patio or yard access.
We like our upstairs neighbors, and want them to keep liking us!
Three words - BOOK IT NOW!
Lucy's apartment is amazing! It was better than the description and pictures. Very modern, clean and the bathroom is extremely impressive. Lucy provides you with details about the local hot spots, activities, transport options and safety tips while you're in San Fran.
The apartment is a short walk (3 blocks) to Hayes Street which is a very hip road filled with bars and restaurants. I would recommend going to Brass Tacks for some cocktails and beers (great prices).
We did have trouble finding a park near by but other than that the place was perfect!
If you're a regular on Airbnb I can guarantee you will not have stayed in such a nice apartment before and If you're a first timer it will set the bar high!
Thanks again Lucy!
Look forward to returning.
Lucy was a fantastic host, left detailed instructions and great recommendations for restaurants, cafes and shopping.
Unit was in a great neighbourhood, close to public transport and shops.
Absolutely loved this place so cosy and homely clean and fresh and had everything we needed for a central location. Safe and secure and Lucy was an excellent host. Get so happy being there and would highly recommended! Great romantic city break for us honeymooners -5 stars!
Beautiful apartment - beautifully decorated. Perfect location for restaurants and access to sights-. We felt sorry for those who had booked hotels near Fishermans wharf- much too touristy! Very easy to find flat and check in. A wonderful experience.
The place is lovely! Had a small issue with communication in the beginning but I do believe it was an honest mistake. And it was made up for during the stay as Lucy was kind to check in and see how we were doing and offer any recommendations. There is a fair amount of noise heard upstairs as the walls are thin but this was mentioned in the listing. With such a gorgeous bathroom, who can complain?! I would definitely recommend Lucy's place..it's cozy after a long day and pretty accessible to many neighborhoods and transit.
We had a WONDERFUL stay at Chez Valley. It was in a great location to see all the sights across the city - we walked to most places. The space is beautiful! Highly recommend staying here!
Nous avons été très bien accueilli par Lucy, l'appartement est superbe, et le quartier parfait !!!!

About the Host, Lucy
British gal living in California 8 years and counting. Love my family and to travel in somewhat equal amounts :)
Recently left the daily grind of a 50+ hour work week to become CEO of Jackson Inc. (Jackson is my young son, and who am I kidding, he's totally the boss of this set-up...). We're looking to rent out our downstairs suite to make some extra income so I can keep staying home. Come on people, help a mama (and baby) out...
