Centrally located in hot Hayes Valley, short walk to NEMA/TWTR, Lower Haight, Duboce Triangle, Mission/Dolores & Castro. Great public transit options. Fully renovated ground floor studio has eat/sleep/living area & luxe bath. Not a full kitchen.
Welcome to 'Chez Valley' - a large, contemporary studio in the geographic heart of San Francisco. Beautifully remodeled, fully furnished and located on the ground floor of three story classic 1896 Victorian, the approximately 600 square foot space has its own private entrance and a wonderful open layout.
The studio has ample room for two adults and a small child (bring your own travel cot), with an incredibly comfortable king-size bed with designer linens. The over-sized private bathroom features heated floors, his & hers sink, a deep luxurious tub and a separate walk in shower - perfect for unwinding after a day of shopping and sightseeing. We offer plush robes and 4 sets of towels for your comfort and convenience.
The suite does not have a full kitchen, but we do provide a mini-fridge, microwave, Keurig coffeemaker and toaster. You will also find two wine glasses, cereal bowls, dinner plates and basic utensils. Please note, dishes will need washing in the bathroom sinks.
Chez Valley does not include a television, but you should be able to watch your favorite shows on tablets or laptops using the high-speed wireless internet. The suite is also stocked with maps, tour books and local publications to help you plan your daily adventures.
Longer term rentals are welcome.
Guests will have full access to the unit. If needed, there is plentiful storage accessible from the unit.
Interaction with Guests
I live in the middle floor flat and should generally be reachable via phone or text during your stay if you need me. We like to greet guests upon arrival (if requested) and if you are interested, I'm happy to tell you lots of great things to eat and things to see. We can also leave you be if that's your preference.
Hayes Valley has been continuously voted one of the top neighborhoods in San Francisco for its vast array of restaurants and boutiques. The perfect place to live and even better place to visit. There is a small park just a few blocks away in the heart of the neighborhood with a biergarten, the world's most delicious ice cream stand, and a coffee bar.
Ideally located for everything in the city, but also good for commuting south as we're only 2 blocks from the entrance to the 101 freeway.
Just a step beyond Hayes Valley are some of San Francisco’s most bustling and exciting neighborhoods - walk five minutes east to the Civic Center, with the SF Opera, City Hall and several museums; ten minutes west and you’re in the heart of the Castro; and fifteen minutes south to the sunny Mission district, with its famous restaurants, murals, taquerias, and coffee shops.
All Major transit (Muni, BART, Street Cars and Buses) are within a couple blocks from the apartment. Very centrally located and extremely easy to get around. No car needed!
Other Things to Note
You can hear minimal street noise. You may also hear some noise (e.g. walking around) from our apartment (where I live with my husband and our one-year-old son), though we are a shoe free house and generally spend time in the back side of the house which isn't above the unit. However, ear plugs are provided for the light sleepers or sensitive to sound among you :)
No pets, no smoking, only 2 visitors at any one time. Talking, music and visitors until about 10 pm are fine. As stated above, no patio or yard access.
We like our upstairs neighbors, and want them to keep liking us!
Lucy was great and always responsive! Place was super cute! Hayes is an awesome neighborhood to check out too :) She provided a great list of places to check out.
A lovely apartment in a very good location of SF. Spacious, a very comfortable large bed and a great shower. Perfect choice! ️Thank Lucy.
Lucy's place is just as beautiful as on the pictures. The neighborhood is class, and the studio is large and clean. The bathroom with a giant shower and a beautiful bathtub are especially great. Lucy did not bother us, as entering and leaving is fully self-service. We received an email a few days in where Lucy offered help if needed, but everything was perfect so we did not need to meet up.
Excellent!! I booked this place for my parents and they absolutely loved it. The place was immaculate and Lucy was very hospitable and quick to respond to questions.
It was an absolute pleasure to stay at Lucy's. Even before check in, we were given seamless instructions to access the apartment and Lucy and her family were there to greet us on arrival. We were left lots of restaurant recommendations (Souvla is a must do) and the apartment was the perfect cosy base to come home every day. For extra piece of mind the apartment is only accessible through two security and one key locked doors which made us feel very secure.
It has been an absolute pleasure to stay in this beautiful room and enjoy the luxurious bathroom. Lucy was the absolute caring host and felt like I had always her around to address any need or question. She provided very clear instructions on check in and gave us wonderful suggestions on what to do in the city.
Chez Valley really was a home away from home! The apartment is tastefully decorated with comfort in mind. The bathroom is as amazing as everyone says it is, a great way to end a long day of sightseeing! After exploring the many neighborhoods around SF it became clear that Hayes Valley is the best one. It has a great community vibe with many cute and cool shops, bars and places to eat. You must have an afternoon beer and bite at Biergarten, sushi at Domo and a quick breakfast at La Boulange. Our absolute fave though was Straw on Octavia. It has a fun carnival theme and they serve up great southern inspired brunches and dinners. So delicious! It's a short walk to the historic F streetcar and many other transport options. It's a steep yet short walk to 'The painted ladies' at Alamo square, a great place for a picnic overlooking the city. Also a short walk to The Mission and Castro districts.
Lucy was so friendly and helpful throughout our stay, made great recommendations and when we had a problem was happy to find a resolution.
I really don't think we could have found a better place to stay to explore San Francisco, book it! You will not be disappointed.

British gal living in California 8 years and counting. Love my family and to travel in somewhat equal amounts :)
Recently left the daily grind of a 50+ hour work week to become CEO of Jackson Inc. (Jackson is my young son, and who am I kidding, he's totally the boss of this set-up...). We're looking to rent out our downstairs suite to make some extra income so I can keep staying home. Come on people, help a mama (and baby) out...
