Laugar, Iceland

Laugar is a small and quiet village with population of 90. It is a school centre in Reykjadalur valley, founded in 1924. The geothermal activity on the property is very yielding, and the natural hot water is used for house heating and an outdoor swimming pool. The landscape around Laugar dates back to the retreating glaciation of the Ice age with hillocks and ponds on which several species of ducks can be spotted.
