This large (38 Squares) 6 bedroom, 2 bathroom brick veneer air conditioned house has 1 master bedroom, 2 very large double bedrooms and 3 single bedrooms available in the best part of Parkwood on the Gold Coast, Queensland.
SeaWorld, DreamWorld, MovieWorld and Wet & Wild are all close (13 mins by car, SeaWorld - 18 mins), along with some of the most beautiful beaches in Australia. Just 5.7 km’s to the closest beach, the house is exactly 10.7 km to Surfer’s Paradise and 10.4 km to MovieWorld. It is also across the road from sheltered bus stops that connect bus users to Southport, with connections to Surfers Paradise. In the opposite direction you may enjoy the mountains, just half an hour by car. Major shopping centres including Harbour Town, Westfield and Australia Fair are all just minutes away.
The house has Telstra Bigpond’s 500 gigabytes per month, unlimited fibre optic cable wireless internet connection, and a maintained swimming pool.
This corner block property provides off road parking for 4 or 5 cars, with room for another 2 or 3 cars on the road. The house enjoys a cool breeze in summer and has stone tiles which keep it cool. There is an air conditioner, and each room also has both a pedestal fan and desk fan. There are wall mounted digital TVs in each bedroom, and a larger digital TV in the living room. All windows and doors have security screens.
You may organise friends to have a very cheap holiday on the Gold Coast, especially when each is paying their own way.
The house is big enough to accommodate nine guests very comfortably, though we can supply fold up beds, camp beds or airbeds for another 3, allowing up to 12. As such it is a favourite for family reunions, especially with middle age siblings who would like to get together but find the expense of multiple hotel suites too much. Some families have spread out around the country (or world) and would like to reunite in a nice place for their parent’s birthday. Others just want a place they can go to relax and have some peace after many months of hard work. The house is very relaxing and the neighbours are retired folk. For this reason parties are not allowed, so party people will have to look elsewhere, thanks. We cannot have loud music or parties in the house, as we must respect our neighbours.
Master bedroom: Double bed, walk in wardrobe, desk, digital TV, pedestal fan, desk fan, bookcases, large bathroom with spa, shower, toilet, etc. Adjoins the patio, with swimming pool and outside table and chairs.
Double bedroom 1: Very large (36 square met.), queen sized bed, ceiling fan, pedestal fan, digital TV, chest of drawers, desk, chairs, tables, spare folding bed, and situated next to pool, barbeque, etc.
Double bedroom 2: Large - about 19 square met.), double bed, large built in wardrobe, desk, digital TV, pedestal fan, desk fan, chest of drawers, bookcase, adjoining patio with swimming pool and outside table and chairs.
3 single bedrooms: Single beds, desks, BIR’s, drawers, bedside drawers, pedestal fans, desk fans, locking doors and wall mounted digital TV’s.
Kitchen: 2 large Samsung side-by-side refrigerators, a Samsung duel fan forced wall oven, Westinghouse ceramic electric cooktop, walk in cupboard, many other cupboards, dishwasher, microwave, etc. We supply all cutlery, dishes, pots, pans, toasters, electric kettles, cutting boards, washing up needs, garbage bags, multiple bins, Dyson vacuum cleaner, ironing board, iron, etc.
Living room: 40" full HD LED LCD TV, cabinet, Blue Ray DVD, recliner (La-z-boy) lounge suite, coffee table, pedestal fan, table, lamp.
Bathroom: Bath, shower, sink, locking door, ceiling exhaust fan, etc.
Laundry: LG front loader 7kg washing machine, Ironing board, Iron, laundry tub, cupboard, we supply washing powder etc.
The dining room table seats 6, while the outside table seats 8, and there are office chairs in all rooms and spare stools in the kitchen WIR. There is a ceiling fan in the dining room/kitchen area, as well as an air conditioner that faces the corridor.
We supply a 4 burner gas barbeque (Beefeater Discovery i-1000) on the patio, along with a bug zapper. We also provide insect repelling lamps etc.
Guests like this house because it is large and spacious, cool in summer, has a quiet, peaceful setting, powerful internet connection, excellent security and a nice pool.
Allen and Ying are close by and available 24 hours a day, when needed.
We work hard to clean and prepare the house for newly arriving guests, and our reward is their satisfaction, which is important to us. Once a booking goes through, we will supply videos of the house, plans, maps and links to everything of interest around the house.

We do not allow party people, parties, or loud music in our house, as this will disturb neighbours.
Please do not smoke inside the house.
Please remember to turn off all electrical devices when going out.
Please close all doors and windows when air conditioner is on.
Please lock the front door when going out. If nobody is home please lock the back doors also. Parkwood is a very safe neighbourhood, but you might like to keep your passport in your safe, along with other valuables, just in case.
Please return keys before you leave.

Allen and Ying
We really enjoyed our stay. Allen and Ying went above and beyond when it came to availability and response times. The residence had everything we needed and was very clean and tidy. Everything was provided i.e bed linen, towels, cutlery, dishes, equipment for cooking etc. The barbecue was excellent and the pool immaculate. The complimentary provision of milk, biscuits, chocolate and other little thing displayed the lengths Allen and Ying were prepared to go to to ensure our comfort.We had a fantastic stay and thoroughly recommend Allen and Ying as hosts.
Arrival and check in at the house was extremely easy. Ideal location and house very clean and perfect for our family group.
Most was fine and everything was to hand including extras like wash powder, tea coffee,
biscuits, dishwasher powder, my only criticism is we were a family of 9 for 3 weeks and only had 1 set of bed linen although on our first day they said they would bring some and I asked again but received none, and only 1 air conditioning unit in the kitchen and it needs some in all bedrooms and the lounge as it was unbearable in the lounge and at night in the bedrooms, and fans only move hot air around. But would otherwise recommend as situation is great for everything.
Christine and family stayed 19 nights at the hottest time of the year, and none provided phone numbers or used phones to call or text. Instead they used only email.
Christine emailed to ask what they should do with extra garbage they had. We invited her to put it in our trailer and said we would take it away in a few hours. When we picked up the trailer it was empty. That night Christine emailed to say, “Sorry missed [sic] your message.”
At the start we invited Christine to let us know if she would like fresh linen. Some guests wash linen in the washing machine, and others like to have fresh linen delivered. Six days later Christine sent an email asking for linen, but we did not receive it. Twelve days later we discovered the email, which was in a spam folder. We immediately offered fresh linen, and Christine snapped, "Linen is too late now we [sic] needed it last week."
During those twelve days Christine could have phoned, texted, sent a 2nd email, emailed from a different email address, used Airbnb’s messaging, or just spoken with us (our daughter saw her a few times during that time).
The linen in question had to be washed three times with bleach to remove dirt and stains. We always prefer to provide fresh linen, as it saves all those extra washes.
Christine’s statement, “On our first day they said they would bring some and I asked again but received none,” is incorrect in three ways:
1) We said, “Please let us know, and we will bring some.”
2) Christine did not ask “again”. She asked once, in an email that failed to get through.
3) “Received none” implies a request was received. It was not.
Regarding Christine’s other comments; the air conditioner is not ‘in the kitchen’. It is positioned between the dining room and the kitchen, facing the corridor. It blows cold air down the corridor into every room with a door open. It can cool the whole house down, but not if windows or external doors are left open, at the end of December, the hottest month of the year. Fans are in every room, and there are also ceiling fans. There is also a cold swimming pool, showers, baths, 12” Gold Batt roof insulation, roof vents and cool rock tiles. If we do put air conditioners in every room, as per Christine’s suggestion, rent would go up.
Though Christine was difficult to communicate with, and highly critical, we still gave her a good review because she left the house clean and tidy. Though we had to wash the linen over and over, and several towels were so stained we had to throw them out, we are not going to impugn a guest without good reason. Her inaccurate assessment of us regarding the linen forced us to put the record straight.
Christine also said that ‘TLC’ is needed. Each year we spend thousands upgrading the house. In the last fifteen months we added the new air conditioner, a new refrigerator, a new 40” TV, roof repairs to the tune of $600, a new side gate, a new fence, repairs to all sliding doors, new windows on the front porch, new blinds, new beds, a new cupboard, a new leather recliner, other door repairs, ceiling repairs, and sand pump engine replacement. We are about to replace all the desks in the house. We're sorry we did not spend enough for Christine, but we do have a budget. Next year we will continue the good work.
In closing, we would like to say that our guests understand our house is not the Hilton Hotel, but they have always been happy. Groups of nine could pay many times more and go to the Hilton, but with the savings they enjoy by going through Airbnb, they have a lot more money to spend on having fun.
The service that Allan and Ying provided was impeccable! On arrival the house was extremely clean and all extra beds had been provided with sheets and towels.
Although I never got to meet the hosts, every conversation between us was very easy and helpful. The extra information they gave about the surroundings of the house was also very helpful.

Allen and Ying (and their trusty helper Jojo!) were great hosts. Prior to our stay the communication was clear, helpful and prompt. When we had an overlap of dates, they helped us out by preparing another property for us - for this we are very grateful! Houses were clean on arrival, linen and towels provided, with a kitchen full of utensils (and a packet of cookies!). Accommodation was good value for money, though some of the beds were smaller than expected (the adults sleeping on the double beds found the arrangement a bit squished). During the stay Allen and Ying were able to help us out promptly when we needed it. Communication throughout the stay was, as usual, very open and friendly, which was fantastic. Would recommend to friends!

We are a friendly couple who understand our guests' need for privacy, security and safety. We attend quickly to any problems should they occur, and this extends further than just rooms. We have rescued guests who were lost, transported others who needed medical help, and helped translate documents. One time we received a call in the middle of the night from a guest who thought someone was trying to get into her window. We were there in three minutes and found that it was just a cat climbing up her window's security screen. Another late night emergency call turned out to be a possum running across the roof. From our own experiences travelling overseas, we know how difficult it can be to find good service. Our guests will not suffer this problem.
