Interaction with guests
Depends on the guest, the timing etc. I am usually present during a guest's stay, but sometimes may have to go away for a day or two. If I am present, I make myself as useful as I can, giving directions, restaurant recommendations, etc. I ask the usual pleasantries: where a guest is from, have they been to Philly before, and so on. Sometimes it leads to a nice chat and then we are on our way.
You may take beverages to your room, but no food please. If you'd like to bring something to eat, you are welcome to have it in the kitchen or out in the garden. You may smoke in the garden but not in the house. I usually have some juice, fruit and tea, sometimes more if I bake (I used to be a pastry chef and owned and operated two cheese and gourmet food shops) on hand. My kitchen is not called Cookie Central for nothing.
There is a $35 lost key fee.

A writer/journalist (primarily as dance critic for the Philadelphia Inquirer, but many publications nationwide and online) I divide my time btw Philly and Phoenix where my husband teaches at ASU. Both homes are lovely, well-situated to downtown hubs, cultural and historical sites. When I'm not writing, I'm probably cooking, and as a former pastry chef, baking. There's a sign in my kitchen: Cookie Central. I love entertaining and checking out all the newest restaurants in Philly, walking all over town especially the Schuylkill Banks. I speak some Polish and some French. My life motto? I'm on it.
