We live in a new residential development of 3-bedroom homes in a gated community. There is no public transportation near the property, so you will need a car. The neighborhood is very quiet - you will definitely get a good nights sleep here! If you are a nature lover, you'll love it here. Great views of the mountains and the desert, and especially the stars at night! Low light pollution allows for incredible star-gazing at night.
Friendly gay hosts (monogamous couple).
Need a haircut? Raymond is a licensed cosmetologist! Haircut only $20.
Weather: Fall and Winter are picture-perfect gorgeous (unless there is a rare Pacific storm blowing through); Spring is nice but can be windy; Summer is hot, but 'it's a dry heat.' We run the air conditioner all summer and it's really not that bad. We love it here all four seasons!
Pet lovers: two indoor cats and two small dogs. Sorry, no pets allowed in the room. Our animals are very territorial, and we try to keep the room pet-free for our guests :)
Spa/Hot Tub Policy: Due to the high cost to heat the spa we are asking for $5 per hour of use, not including the time it takes to heat up. It takes about 45 minutes to heat up. This is on the 'honor' system, so all we ask is that you leave us the cash in your room when you check out. The spa pump is right outside our bedroom window, therefore we ask that you use the spa between the hours of 7 a.m. - 11:00 p.m. only. Thank you! Pool is not heated, but is comfortable to use in the Summer.
The house has solar panels, William drives an electric car, and we recycle!
Special note: Many of our guests report feeling especially rejuvenated and rested while staying at our place. This is not accidental. We utilize a technology called "Safe Space" in our home that is designed to re-pattern the electromagnetic frequencies (EMF's) found in the environment (radio, cell, wireless signals, etc.) and neutralizes their negative effects on our human energetic/auric system. Result: EMF protection, increased life force, and enhanced clarity. You can search the internet for Safe Space to find out all the technical details if you like. Bottom line, our space is REALLY special, and we want you to enjoy your stay with us! :)
Smoking outdoors only
No glass in pool area
No illegal drugs
Limit two adults over 18
No pets allowed, sorry.
Please be mindful of our very friendly indoor cat (Benjamin) who will want to make friends with you and sneak out your door if you leave it open :) and our newest addition "Bella" our small Chihuahua who gets excited when we have visitors :)
Spa/Hot Tub Policy: Due to the high cost to heat the spa we are asking for $5 per hour of use, not including the time it takes to heat up. It takes about 45 minutes to heat up (in winter, less in hotter seasons). This is on the 'honor' system, so all we ask is that you leave us the cash in your room when you check out. The spa pump is right outside our bedroom window, therefore we ask that you use the spa between the hours of 7 a.m. - 11:00 p.m. only. Thank you! Pool not heated, but is comfortable in the Summer!
Parking: The Homeowner's Association has requested there is no over night parking permitted on the street. Please park your car in the driveway on the extreme right hand side (so a car can get out of the garage on the left side) overnight. It is okay to park on the street for a limited time during the day. Park legally, i.e., with the right side of the car on the right side of the street.
If for some reason you need to park your car overnight on the street give us advance warning so we can 'safe-list' your car. Thanks!
This is a great spot for visiting the area. Very handy to Morongo casino, outlet malls, Palm Springs and Joshua Tree (if you're not camping). VERY quiet neighborhood. Great to walk around at night to get some exercise.
Modern decor and bed was very comfortable. Nice thick bath towels. En suite kitchen setup was perfect for making coffee, keeping a few things cold in the mini fridge. Little bistro table perfect for eating take out. Private entrance opens to a patio which is great to sit out in the AM and drink coffee.
The Blue Room is beautifully decorated, sparkling clean, and so thoroughly provisioned with dishes, a microwave, fridge, coffee pot, and coffee. William and Raymond are very nice hosts with very sweet pets. With the private entrance, you can come and go without feeling like you're disrupting anything. We made use of the hot tub and enjoyed brief conversations with Raymond and William about our plans and nearby sites. The room comes with everything you could ask for, including information for local hikes and attractions (I really enjoyed the book about Palm Springs' history with cute pictures of vintage postcards and retro photos). The house is located central to Joshua Tree, Coachella Valley, and Palm Springs. We loved our intro to the desert and plan on coming back to stay in the Blue Room!
Raymond and William were wonderful hosts. The separate entrance provided us with a sense of autonomy and they respected our privacy. Check in and check out was a breeze and when we took off without our iPad they immediately called us. Everything was very clean and neat. We had access to the spa/pool, but did not use it. There are two small dogs in the house, but we never heard them until we greeted them as they are keep separated from the indoor entrance to the room by a petgate. The airbnb listing states there is a cat, but we never had the pleasure of meeting one nor were my allergies ever affected. The house is located in a nice neighborhood, less than an hour outside of Joshua Tree National Park and approximately 30 minutes from Palm Springs. This was an excellent experience for how affordable it was. I highly recommend staying with them and would do so again.
I would definitely come back to this room. I met one of the hosts upon arrival and took a tour of the house. The room is exactly as advertised. The bed is comfortable. I never heard the dog bark during my 3 days there. The neighborhood is very nice and peaceful. Thanks guys!!!
Raymond and William made us feel right at home. The room is fantastic - a nice sized bed, a flat-screen TV, an attached walk-in closet/make-shift kitchen/microwave section + attached bathroom/shower. You have your own private entrance and the room is decorated in classic 80s rock albums. Although I didn't explore the rest of the house, we were given a tour and I'm sure we would have enjoyed the spa (pool and sauna) section. We will definitely come back here again in the future next time we're in the area.

About the Host, Raymond And William
William and Raymond are a gay couple who live together in the Desert Hot Springs property (not the Palm Springs apartment or luxury home). William loves to travel (he's been to London (and all around the British country-side), Amsterdam, Sydney, Puerto Vallarta, Paris, Egypt, Costa Rica, all over the U.S., etc.), loves reading, works at a local university, and is vegan. Raymond loves music (Grace Jones, Cher, Nina Hagen, Boy George are among his favorites). Both love to exercise, socialize with friends in Palm Springs, and watch movies together.
Closest restaurant to our place. Good food, very reasonable prices. Great for breakfast!
Great food and reasonable prices. Service can be slow, but it's worth the wait!
Desert Hot Springs is a "hot" spot for, well, Spas! Abundant natural hot mineral waters; internationally famous. Not been to any ourselves (we like our own private jacuzzi :)

This is where we met! Early evenings they have video trivia. A hot spot for the gay community especially after 10 on weekends. Tue and Thur is 2-for-1 drink specials all night. Straight-friendly.
In the summer months we like to go to the top of the tram and hike in the national park. Miles of trails, a restaurant, views, and a mild mid -70 degrees even on the hottest of days in the desert.
Our favorite place to have dinner. Always busy, the restaurant serves great American modern food at reasonable prices. The owners are very active in the Palm Springs community and local charities.
Popular! Reservations suggested!
We spend most of our social life here! Palm Springs is an easy drive from our house - only 15 - 20 minutes, 9 miles to downtown.
This is a favorite for having drinks in the lovely upstairs video bar. This is also a restaurant and it has an outdoor bar downstairs right on the downtown Blvd. Straight-friendly.
Check it out!
Not casino people ourselves, but this is the closest casino and right in downtown Palm Springs.
Highly recommended Italian restaurant by one of our guests!
Very popular, and has an amazing interior and delicious food. Raymond and I like (email hidden)bar to eat because they offer reduced prices on a pretty robust "bar menu". Three levels to dine inside
We shop here every week to get our organic, canned beans and veggies for our soups and recipes. Only 99 cents each! Fabulous bargains!
This is a favorite hangout for the gay community on Friday nights with $2 cocktails starting at 4:00 p.m. until I think 7 p.m. Fabulous Asian/Chinese cuisine. Reservations recommended for dinner.
We are only about 15 - 20 minutes away from the airport.
All organic ingredients, mostly vegetarian. One of our favorite lunch stops.
This is one of our favorite lunch spots. Excellent, healthy food. Most menu items are vegan/vegetarian and all under $10.00. Friendly service.
Pretty good Mexican cuisine
A favorite for vegetarian cuisine!
One of our favorite venues for groceries. Wines, cheeses, healthy snacks, nuts, and more!
A favorite among our airbnb guests, this Oasis in the desert features a natural spring, river and lots of shady palm trees.
Pappy & Harriett's is here! Enjoy BBQ under the stars & groove to a live band at this historic wild west watering hole in the mountains above Yucca Valley.
Factory outlet stores.
Take a drive up to the local mountains to this artsy, friendly small town with lots of little shops, restaurants, and art galleries.
This recommended to us by one of our airbnb guests! It has become one of our favorite vegetarian restaurants. Close to the entrance to the Joshua Tree National Park.
