Your own private bedroom with attached private bathroom and walk-in closet. You also have access to the rest of our apartment including the kitchen and deck.
Our neighborhood is filled with local bars, restaurants, and Audubon Park including river access
Charming private bedroom with attached private bathroom in a 2-bedroom apartment. The apartment is in the back of a traditional New Orleans shotgun. The room has a queen-sized bed with attached private bathroom w/ tub, and a walk-in closet. We provide towels, linens, hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner, soap, etc.
You have access to our kitchen, living room, laundry, Wi-Fi, deck, and elliptical. We have coffee, tea, almond milk, and bottled water. We have two bikes that guests can use to explore the city.
The apartment is on hip Magazine Street and is six blocks from Whole Foods. Short walk to shops, cafes, restaurants, bars, and yoga studios. Very close to Audubon Park, Zoo, and the Mississippi river front. We are a block away from one of New Orleans' po-boy shops, Guy's and six blocks to Le Bon Temps where you can hear live music almost every night of the week.
During Mardi Gras seven parades march in front of the house.
It's a block to the Magazine St bus stop and about 8 blocks to the St Charles street car. ($1.25 / ride and $3 a day for unlimited bus/street car rides) It's roughly a $15 cab ride to the French Quarter and $35-40 (w/ tip) to the airport. Safe, free parking on the street.
We also have two bikes available for guests to use.
We have two sweet cats and a german shephed who are not allowed in the private room / bath or outside (cats).
Guests have a private bedroom that is off the kitchen. Connected to their bedroom is a full, private bath and a walk-in closet.
The rest of the house is shared.
Laundry (also the host's bathroom)
Interaction with Guests
Our apartment is a 2 bedroom 2 bath so unless we are on vacation we will be living in the apartment as well. We respect your privacy and do our best not to get in your way. We enjoy getting to know our guests but are not offended if you don't want to hang out.
I really love that our neighborhood is quiet but within walking distance to tons of restaurants, bars, live music, a movie theater, grocery stores, and Audubon park. It's 6 blocks to Whole Foods and 8 to Winn Dixie (regular grocery store). We are 8 blocks to the Prytania Theater (made famous by A Confederacy of Dunces). We are walking distance to pizza, sushi, Mexican, breakfast, fresh juices, poboys, fine dinning, fantastic, local ice cream, and a french bakery. We are also 6 blocks from Le Bon (email hidden) and great place to hear live music (usually free or for a cheap cover).
The Magazine St bus stops a block from our house. It will drop (email hidden) - the beginning of the French Quarter. It's a short walk to the Tchoupatoulas bus and the St Charles street car. Our public transit system is definetly on "Island Time" meaning they are generally on time in the morning and begin to get off schedule as the day progresses. Once it gets late (past 10pm) I don't attempt trying to take the bus / street car because they do not run very often and are usually not at all on time at that point. It's a 15-20 taxi ride from Frenchman St (just past the far side of the French Quarter) unless it's a holiday or special event.
Biking is also a great way to get around New Orleans. It's best not to bike on Magazine St - better to take a side street. We have two bikes available for guests to borrow.
No smoking in the house (deck ok). 420 friendly. No pets. Please try to keep the cats inside / on the screened in porch.
We recycle but we are not fanatical about it. Recycling is next to the trash can in the kitchen. You can recycle the following
- cardboard (no pizza boxes)
- wax boxes (almond milk etc)
- all plastic
- no glass ( I know it's weird)
Fabulous rental! Excellent location within walking distance to several cool spots on Magazine Street... highly recommend for those going to New Orleans that want to get a good feel for the city without having to drive everywhere. Loved the cats as well
We had a wonderful stay, Lesley and Jonathan were wonderful and more than accommodating. When we arrived they gave us many suggestions of places within walking distance to get good food and drinks, as well as see good music. The neighborhood was wonderful; many restaurants, bars, boutiques, etc. On top of that, extremely convenient to the bus line which we used daily without any hassle. I highly recommend this location!
We had a great stay with Lesley and Jonathan. Lesley was always very quick to respond to my emails/texts and both Lesley and Jonathan were great about answering my general Airbnb questions. The location is excellent, within walking distance from several great restaurants, like Le Petite Grocery, Patois and Pizza Domenica. The home is also conveniently located on a bus line to take you back into the city/to things like the WWII Museum and Ogden Museum of Southern Art. The bed and bathroom were very clean, which is a must in my book. Lesley also made the check-in/check-out process easy/convenient. And although I am generally not a fan of cats, I really enjoyed cuddling with sweet Lulu. This was a great introduction for my husband and me to Airbnb.
Lesley and Jonathan were fantastic hosts; very personable and inviting. (The pets were friendly too!) The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. The neighborhood was quiet but close to shops, restaurants and bars. Overall, had a fantastic stay with no complaints!
Leslie was a great host. She provided everything we needed to have a great time in NOLA. First off, the room was immaculate along with the private bathroom. The towels were soft and sheets were cozy. We rode the bikes she provided around all day and cooked great meals in her kitchen. Whole Foods was 5 blocks away so we saved a ton eating in. The location was quiet and just a bike or bus ride down Magazine St from everything touristy, fun and park like. I'll come back anytime I'm in NOLA.
Lesley is a great host - we arrived late and she was able to accommodate a midnight arrival, no problem. Room, bathroom and kitchen were all spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Uptown is a great neighborhood with lots of nice restaurants and bars in walking distance. We had a car, but the French Quarter is a quick bus ride away (Lesley even provided a bus schedule in the room). She recommended that we take a day trip to Jean Lafitte State Park and it ended up being one of the trip highlights. Thank you, Lesley!
Leslie and Jonathan are very pleasant engaging hosts, we were warmly welcomed. The bed is comfortable and we slept well. There is a large whole foods supermarket within walking distance.

I am a 31 year old artist, photographer, and decorative painter. I live with my boyfriend, Jonathan, our German Shepherd Apollo, and our cats Ignatius (aka Scooter) and Lulu. We both work for ourselves painting, photographing, and decorative painting.
We are pretty easy going. Both of us practice ashtanga yoga and enjoy watching movies. We both enjoy traveling and meeting new people which is why we enjoy hosting people in our home.
