Frederick is one of my favorite cities in the DC area and I had been wanting to stay a few nights in downtown Frederick for a few years now. 111 S Market was very comfortable and so close to such great restaurants and cute shops. As other reviewers have mentioned, there is a fair amount of car and foot traffic on the street below. I used the white noise machine there and brought ear plugs so it was not a problem. I can't imagine being so close to such a vibrant downtown and NOT having some noise. Being so close to everything was just wonderful and Matt is a great host.
Favorite Place to stay in Frederick!
My husband and I love to visit Frederick and have stayed in Matt's place at One Eleven Market several times. It's very convenient to all the wonderful restaurants and shops and is perfect for our needs. Matt is so friendly, makes the process a breeze and is very responsive to any questions you may have.
The studio was terrific--exactly as pictured. Great location, great vibe. It's the perfect spot for exploring all the great restaurants and shops in Frederick. And Matt was a terrific host. We loved all the hospitable touches: the bath products, the beers in the fridge, and the delicious ginger ales!
My husband & I had a lovely stay at 111 Market Street. The apartment is clean, well furnished, bright, and very comfortable (even on a *very* cold night!). The location is perfect, just a few blocks walk to the heart of down town Frederick. Should we find ourselves heading to Frederick again, I would definitely stay again and will recommend it to friends.
I found Matt's place while searching for somewhere to take my husband for a surprise Valentine's weekend. He was very friendly, and super helpful in giving input on the best places to eat and visit. The whole apartment was cozy, very clean, smelled great, and had a really comfortable bed. We had a lovely stay in spite of the wretched winter weather we've been experiencing. It was so nice having everything located within short walking distance. Frederick is a charming little town, and a wonderful place to visit if you are interested in Civil War history, and enjoy good dining.
I stayed 5 months in the 111 S Market Street Studio in Frederick due to an internship and it was perfect! Matt is the best landlord you can imagine and the studio is really cute and look exactly like on the pictures. Matt was allways there for me if I had any questions or problems. The studio is just a few minutes away from a lot of bars, restaurants, the Creek Park and a good bakery. You will find everything you need close to the studio. And if you need any advices regarding excursions just ask Matt and he will give you a lot of ideas. @Matt: Thank you so much! Frederick and your studio were like a second home for me. You have made my stay in the U.S. unforgettable! I hope I can come back to Frederick someday!
Matt's place is in a great location.
I have been working in the area and found the chain hotels around the mall to be depressing. There are a variety of good restaurants and bars and shopping and cultural attractions along the street outside. The river-walk and a network of pedestrian trails snaking through a long, lovely series of parks along the canals was also a few steps away, which made for a very pleasant jog.
It is not a fully applianced apartment so you won't be doing any laundry or serious cooking. But good coffee with snacks and drinks are provided, and anything you need is close by. Street parking is not legal overnight but there is ample, cheap city garages just a 2 minute walk away.
There were also toiletries and towels etc. available etc.
Think of it as a biggish hotel room with all kinds of extras at a lower price and in a WAY better location for a civilized, interesting experience.
Cody room with modern amenities. We used it as a base as we visited various Civil War sites, locally and up to Gettysburg.
Plenty of places nearby to eat and shop for any budget.
Matt was a gracious and thoughtful host. He provided us with a clean and well stocked apartment and let us know he would be happy to help us in any way he could.
We hope to have our daughter & her husband stay here when theyneed a little get away from DC. We'll be back too!
Great studio!!! Very clean and well appointed studio apartment and a fantastic location on Market Street in Frederick. There are restaurants all around - probably 20 restaurants within 5 minutes. Comfy bed, well stocked fridge (including coconut water, pellegrino and a local beer), and extra toiletries. Everything you need and nothing you don't.
I am a physician assistant student and needed to find a furnished place to stay for a six week clinical rotation near Frederick and Matt's studio was the perfect fit! The studio is clean, comfortable, and in a great location! Matt was a absolutely wonderful host! He had snacks in the room, the refrigerator was stocked with drinks, and he brought clean linens weekly. Matt was readily available to answer questions I had during my stay and communicated with me excellently. I highly recommend this studio and will certainly be staying again if I am in the area.
