If you want to chill out with SUPERB views of the valley & beautiful grounds then Nakula is ideal. Spent 12 very enjoyable days soaking in the peace & very few guests to be seen as the estate is massive & very private. Huge living areas. Lots of storage (website hidden) fridge with tea/coffee facilities available. Staff are very friendly & helpful. It is located a (walkable-30 mins) distance to Ubud centre but would recommend a moped/scooter for getting in & out. Breakfast (can be served on the balcony) is small but yummy. Outdoor shower/bathroom is an acquired taste- be prepared for insects.....mossies, ants, (remember you're next to the jungle!!) Wifi is slow & intermittent from the room but better at reception area. I would definitely come back for the peace & tranquillity alone.....
It is for sure an amazing estate, greate service and overall we loved it there.
Amazing location, wonderfully peaceful place to stay, a sanctuary in the middle of nature.
I was impressed by the location and room, staff was very friendly and available. Even had spa treatments and yoga classes on-site.
All in all a wonderful experience I would love to repeat!
beautiful environment and very large suite for the price. space is five star setting. very open living room. clean. can eat breakfast at a couple spots overlooking river.
staff and service can be better.
We really loved our stay in this suite.
- The suite is beautiful, spacious and confortable. Last but not least the view from the terrace is incredible.
- The situation is perfect (it's a quiete place and the busy down town of Ubud is at 15/20 minutes by walk accross the monkey forest).
Highly recommended! perfect place to discoer Ubud and its surroundings.
We have stayed for 3 days in the Nakula Room. It is a perfect room because of the size of the room and the view. Moreover, within 5 minutes you are in the city center by motorbike. We loved also the bathroom and the breakfast. The service was also great. I have also no hesitation in recommending this resort and can't wait to come back for another visit.

This is the home of Dr Steve Wignall. As Steve travels constantly, he has enlisted his old friend, Ubud-based Indonesian photographer Rio Helmi ((website hidden)) to help out as your co-host, along with Komang and Kadek.
Komang and Kadek are from Ubud, and Rio has lived here nearly 40 years and has extensive knowledge of Bali having published numerous illustrated books on the island.
Steve is currently an advisor to the Clinton Health Access initiative, and is one of the leading experts on HIV in Indonesia who has been working on prevention and so forth here for decades. After graduating in the 60s and a 21 year stint as a US Navy doctor he began work in Indonesia. His experience and close relationship to Indonesia, from Papua to Sumatra, is reflected in his eclectic home set in extensive, rambling gardens featuring a 25 meter lap pool, plunge pools, a spa overlooking the river, garden pavilions, one of which is often used for Yoga retreats and other gatherings.
A sanctuary of peace and abundant natural beauty. There are nine unique suites on this beautiful garden estate which runs along a lush river valley/ravine, with a 25 meter lap pool and two shared pavilions. in Nyuhkuning, one of the most interesting hamlets in Ubud, noted for it's community civic awareness. It is home to Bumi Sehat Foundation run by famed midwife Robin Lim (CNN hero of the year) and also to the Bali Peduli foundation which focuses on HIV prevention, detection and friendly and accessible treatment. There are numerous small cafes and restaurants on the small road leading to Ubud's popular Monkey Forest which is a pleasant stroll away from the estate.
Please note that the entire estate is a no smoking area!
